Finally got my spacers. Come to learn having spacers on makes removing and installing the wheel a total bitch. My last car had adapters so this bit of BS was new to me.
Going for an alignment tomorrow. I'll post a pic after it's done, but the car seems to be riding higher in the front than it was stock. I swear I pushed the shocks into the knuckle as far as the could go, and left the front tension arms loose(ish) until I could torque them down at ground level. I found another thread here where someone else had the same issues with their Konis. They had the perf springs whereas I got swift. Did go for a ride as I needed to do a couple things but the car still seems like it is rather high. But even before going anywhere I checked where the springs were seated and they are where they should be. Anyone else see this issue?

Finally pulled the trigger on the Ohlins Road and Track suspension. Ohlins does not have a ready assembled kit for a car with standard E8x/E9x front knuckles and ///M rear camber arms so Barry@3dm put one together for me. Also, Millway aluminum rear suspension carrier bushings for my ///M rear suspension carrier are arriving from Sweden today.
Time for me to get off my ass and get Suspension V3 done. The Millway aluminum rear suspension carrier bushings for the stock rear suspension carrier that I previously purchased will be posted for sale shortly.

Noice! Wish I had that kind of cash for coilovers. Although in retrospect If I add up all the cash spent on my new setup I probably wouldn't be too far from the ohlins.

Also mkeiser hell yeah I will soonish. Gonna have to deal with lug bolts for a while. Can't say I really like how some of the stud kits have open nuts rather than closed ones. I think they look kinda weird, but I guess they do that so it can be compatible with varying size of spacers

Easy $10 fix for that, pick up a hanger pin. I use mine alllll the time, makes life sooo much easier. Here's the BMS version, but there are dozens out there, and easy to make your own for that matter... https://burgertuning.com/collections...wheel-pin-tool

The wheels and brakes look great! I recall that your car has stock suspension and previously had style 262 wheels. There was a recent thread (https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=2015794) regarding conversion from run flat tires to non-run flat tires. Multiple posters stated that their car’s handling became “unstable” after installing non-run flats, and many said these problems were resolved only after modifying the suspension. I’m not trying to restart the run flat vs. non-run flat discussion here, but I would appreciate hearing your impressions of the car’s handling and ride after replacing 17” wheels with 18” wheels and installing the Continentals. Thanks. Last edited by JoeH128; 05-27-2023 at 03:39 PM.. |

I went with the Garagastic kit and it's been great. Just be sure not to order the super long ones. I did that and I kind of hate how far they stick out. I still prefer them to lug bolts tho. |
