VRSF charge pipe went on today. Doesn’t seem to fit as snugly as the original one despite the new O ring. I guess the test drive will quickly let me know if everything is okay.

Attempting to install bms diff brace…when I bolt it to the diff, the holes in subframe don't align perfectly. So I guess I will have to drill it out? Anyone else have to do this

Did you triple check you got the right brace for your diff? There’s more than one depending what transmission you have, I think.

Yeah I have I have a manual so I got the large brace. One of my buddies said he had to use his jack to force it up for the holes to align but I don't like the sounds of that

feel great improvement over stock. It's now planted and waaaaay less body roll. Road feel back is nice and as it should for this lil coupe. I also replaced the rear lower shock mount and the oem rubber above the bump stop.

I didn't measure the previous settings, but front is tucking and rear is about 1/2" above the tire. I'm still waiting for the springs to settle before I make an adjustment to the rear, I have about 1/4" left on the threaded collar. Front setting is what it is, I'll have to adjust with spring length but I think these 170mm will work w/o scraping on everything. I preloaded them 1/4"

I didn't have a tall enough jack to get the whiteline subframe bushings in at this time. So that will be another project when I feel like tackling the rear links. Also have M3 front arms waiting to go in as well. That should help tighten things up even more.

your diff bushing maybe causing the sagging which is why your friend had to jack the diff to align the mounts to be concentric.

Finally got a dash cam. Went with red tiger f7n dual channel.

Install went fairly smooth, still need to tuck some wires but looks good. Went with the 12v socket for now as I couldn't get the hardwire kit to work and I think it may be a software thing as I know I hooked the fuses in correctly, it had power when the car was off. I know there is residual power in some of the fuses but it confuses me as to how the camera would recognize that it is "hardwired" since power is power?

I plugged the fuses into 56 for constant and 5 for accessory. Any advice?

Regardless, I've ordered the Viofo a129plus duo for my f32 and if I have a better time with it, I'll swap the e82 to that.

Got it aligned. No record of any alignment ever being done, so with 78K miles, new-ish tires, and such it seemed like a good time.

Camber was mostly OK, toe was off at all 4 corners: driver's side out, passenger side in. Noticeable already on the drive home, although that could just be confirmation bias

I ended up just taking a step bit and boring out the holes in subframe a little more. It wasn't off too much. And then bolted it up. Ya I thought that too maybe slight sag in diff bushings. Maybe something to upgrade in future

Anyone need heated non-sport seats? 😏

Why did you remove the little spring?

Spring break roadtrip plans altered due to chilly weather in SW Virginia. I had planned to take Little Red (2011 128i) to the road that runs from Marion to Tazewell, 32 miles up and down three mountains, known as The Back of the Dragon. But I'm on summer tires and it is cold! I decided not test summer rubber on very twisty and technical roads at these temps. So, a more leisurely drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's still just as cold but no (or not as many?) tight switchbacks. Taking it easy . . .

Nice. Planning to go in form the top or bottom? I haven't felt the need for this part but I've got a water pump job already so... thinking I may as well.

I was just thinking about that - I gotta have look.. I did the water pump first thing when I got the car, then I found it was done 40,000km ago, oh well.. I hear you can just unbolt it without disconnecting any lines but I'll look and see what I can reach from the top.

To stuff fat tires up front w/ 9" wide rims. Following Apex's guide for 17x9 fitment, 2nd photo tells all on his thread, gotta get the lower spring perch at or above tire level.

Started the water pump swap, didnt' get far, didn't plan to, but had a few minutes. Under tray off, PS lines moved, got to the sway bar. It didn't get as far out of the way as I expected. It may not have to but I think I'll get pissed off at it if I hit my head on it a few times (doing this under jack stands (with ramps under the wheels as a backup)).

Question - I recall some items needing to be torqued at ride height. I am thinking that's the suspension arms? The sway bar to endlinks don't care, because they spin in their housings? I'm pretty sure but wouldn't mind a backup opinion (especially if you are certain, haha).

Torque for those items looks to be 16 ft-lbs for the nuts for the sway bar brackets, and 43 for the endlinks. If anyone is sure about those either way I wouldn't mind the confirmation there either.

I've been searching a bit but it's been a long day and my search skills seem to suck right now.

Test fit 275 35 18 rspros up front. Was worried they might rub cause federals run big. No rubbing whatsoever so now I can get the other pair mounted. Off to paint next week hopefully.

Really enjoyable drive up the Blue Ridge Parkway - very little traffic, clear weather, dry road surface, and, despite the 45 mph speed limit, was able to travel at more sporting rate most of the time. The tire/wheel and suspension upgrades on Little Red have really turned it into a grippy, precise road machine. At the northern end of the Blue Ridge it continues on to Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. Pic of Little Red with Old Rag in the background.
