My stock dual mass nearly failed catastrophically almost leaving me stranded. Figured it was time to beef up the powertrain since I'm ditching the 5558 turbo next season anyway. Not really done today but did complete the 500 mile break in process. Replaced the old spec clutch with the budget friendly dkm twin disc, removed the old lackluster shifter assembly and replaced it with an Rtd, refreshed the trans mounts, and changed the fluid to royal purple.I did this all on my back with the car on stands in not so comfortable outside temps which was pretty bad, however shifting is amazing and lightning fast now at the expense of being a bit on the noisy side. Both the suckage of working without a lift and the noise were to be expected though.

Close…It's on 4, 6 ton jack stands. the jack is only holding up the steering rack so I can roll the transmission under and is bearing no weight of the chassis.

As for the seats, here you go.
I'll probably be selling them for dirt cheap soon since the novelty of them has worn off

Drove it.....

Are these just the greatest little back road dancers or what?

Steeles Tavern to Massies Mill today. mid 40's in the valley...near freezing at the ridge. WIndows down so you can hear the tires work, the intake song and the burble on over run.

No radio...just intake, exhaust, gearbox, occasional gravel pinging off the floor and tire noise.

Life is good.

Third gear most of the way up and down. Engine singing a song through the modified airfilter... light burble on the overrun.

Not a car in front of my or behind me the whole 21 miles.

Caught one VDOT truck and he slides right and waves me around after two corners. A hearty thank you wave and I never saw him again.

Accelerate, lift, brake, turn in under brake to transfer weight to front corner, add throttle and move weight to outside rear and take a set, roll out of steering lock., Accelerate. HARD....repeat about 1 20 times.....

tires pattering over tar and chip roads on the western slope as we work uphill. Wheel feeling alive in your hands as feedback is delivered.

East side is paved and smooth with some gravel washout on blind driveways.

New B12 suspension kept body composed and predictable with a slightly less understeer feel . and BIG F30 brakes were barely taxed today.

Winter "All Season" tires on 17's so the car slips and groans as traction starts to give up. DTC off but never got a flash all the way.

Not a high speed run just a spirited back road dance...maybe a top speed of 65-70. I am sure I could go faster but I like a margin for error when there are drop offs on one side, solid stone walls on the other and pickup trucks wanding over the double yellow in the oncoming.

Such an amazing car and what a wonderful drive......

And I just stared at mine from the window of my bedroom, where I am on day four of Covid quarantine. I will have to file that drive you mentioned away for my next trip to Virginia (my home state - W&M grad and my parents and my sister and her family live there so I am there often).

We should meet up and have a pair of Crimson Red 2011 Oners take the drive.

Pic of mine along the Blue Ridge last spring:

Tore down my motor after it dealt with way too much power, for way too long. Was really cool to learn more about the N54 engine like this.
