New freshly broken in tires really help with traction. That being said, I cant imagine living life FBO without first getting a LSD. I'm usually running between 14-16 PSI and I spin hard in 1st and chirp in 2nd. If the tires are really warmed up it'll hook up in 1st, but with more power it would be unmanageable.

Ya, I didn't have traction issues with the logs as you start logging low down enough in the rev range. But if cruising at about 3200 and I get into it, they go.

3rd gear aside, I'm surprised about your 1st and 2nd gear comments. I can't imagine not breaking free at will in 2nd at will.

I'd like to believe new tires alone would would fix my traction problems (mine are getting worn, but not down to the wear bars yet), but I dunno. Maybe my problem is a combination of older tires and the fact that the only 'warm' up they get is from driving around vs. burnouts.

I am curious to see how the 2015 Audi S3 is received. On paper, looks like a great car for me.

Get the Wavetrac! I have FBO and it would just blow the tires off, also have VVT stg1 and run 50% e85. It's really easy to do yourself, just order plenty of shims/c clips for the backlash setting. Swapping out the wavetrac is a one easy day job.

Those are pretty sticky. I am surprised to hear you say this.

I wouldn't buy them after hearing that.

The tires are fantastic and you should absolutely buy them. The fact is that 500 horsepower with a 3.46 diff on a short wheelbase car isn't built to get traction. Its a struggle.
