The intercooler/radiator mount though, it's a worthless piece of garbage and bracing it absolutely helps. The weight of the 7.5" race cooler pulled my mounts down about 2"+. So I bent them back into place and made up a little brace.
It's been doing better and I can smash through snow with much more confidence now.
Did you take measurements when you did this? Length of rod, what bolt, etc. Looks like aluminum stock from HD/Lowes...

Ceramic coated the rear bumper with Avalon King Armor Shield IX. Spray-washed the rest of the car with AeroCosmetics Wash and Wax All. Great product, would recommend if you live somewhere water is a premium. Also tried Meguiar's CMX coating on top of the Armor Shield elsewhere on the car with the goal of some additional depth to the paint and possibly filling in some light scratches that one coat couldn't.

Also did a pretty major detailing in the interior. Cleaned out my gummy cup holders, cleaned off my floor mats, dusted and cleaned all the interior surfaces, and then I protected it all with some 303 Protectant. Also gave the leather a cleaning and conditioning for good measure.

Getting tires put on the new wheels tomorrow (stealing my father's 245/40R17 RE-71R's since his car was rubbing pretty bad after his recent suspension modifications). So excited to get them on, get some good pictures of the whole car, in and out, and then go tear-up some back roads since "driving for pleasure" is allowed.

This is soooo cool! I'd definitely buy one if you were to sell a kit or something. I'm sure there's a good dozen or so on here that would buy such a thing, especially if it proves to be beneficial.

Nope. Just bought a 3' stick and chopped it to fit.
The stud on the intercooler side is a replacement I found for furniture, course on one side and M10 on the other (odd as it sounds for furniture hardware to be metric).
Bolt on the subframe side is just a M10 self tapper.

Did you notice any changes after the install??

Yup. Snagged it on a winter sale. Just got around it getting it installed.

Spent the morning changing transmission and diff oil. Both didn't look too bad for having 72k on them, but I still don't think I'd want to leave them in for the the lifetime of the car.

They're super light for their size, coming in at just over 17 pounds per wheel. These are flow formed, not forged like the TA16's.

Just need to order tires for them now. Clearance to the strut tube is tight, but I think it'll work as long as the tire is relatively square. My main concern is the spring perch, so I may be forced to do camber plates (oh no, how tragic) that'll let me shift the spring upwards.
Hey chris_flies any issues w using these TA5R wheels? I’ve been looking at them but doubted fitment due to the 38 offset. We have the same suspension setup and wanted to know if you were able to clear the Öhlins struts and F30 calipers. Some side profile pics would be good too!
