Didn't realize there was a specific cup holder on only 2008 models. Care to share?

My favorite way to deal with the useless cupholder in the center console.

Was in my 2002 Mini cooper S before I sold it and kept the ashtray.

You all should look up the arm rest delete thread. It’s among my favorite mods, because it gets rid of rattles, looses weight, frees up the cup holder, and it looks cooler and more like a sports car. Plus, I find it more comfortable, but ymmv.

I just realized that I have put 13,000 miles on my 2010 135i since buying it about 4 months ago. 39k to 52k.

Two oil changes down. Anything I should do about now?

I love my armrest. I just wish it was height and fore/aft adjustable like my GTI's is.

I love mine too. There's not much storage space in this car, and the split level design of the armrest is awesome.

Yeah, I never kept anything in it, anyways, I found it too high, so the removal works for me.

For some reason, the arm rest is where I keep my flashlight and tire pressure gauge as well as the fuse card, and some eye wash solution. It seems to have become the designated place for these things for no reason other than I probably need to go through my glovebox and clean it out. For one thing, I can probably put my 7/16th ratcheting wrench back in my toolbox as I don't think my chargepipe will leak from the coupler anymore, hasn't since the last time I took it off and put it back on.

So, What did I do for my 1er today? I decided I should probably clean out my glovebox this weekend.

I hear ya! I keep a few things under the trunk liner, and the rest in the glovebox.

Yup, Under my trunk liner is some mosquito repellent, the BMW tool kit, some fix a flat, an old school plug kit, couple microfibers, small first aid kit, tool to adjust coil overs, trim tool, and I think a handled 8MM socket.

I feel like I carry a whole bunch of "just in case" stuff in my car, a bit paranoid maybe? But then again, surely once I remove any one thing will be when I absolutely end up needing it.

Tire gauge, mints, pen, docs, window scraper and a few other things go in the glove box. Sunglasses in the "ashtray" spot. Armrest is the perfect spot for a pocketknife, flashlight and leatherman. Fit, but snug & don't move around. It makes the cupholder kinda useless, but it doesn't get in the way of the shifter and is a nice height for my arm. I'd feel the loss if I ever gave it up.

Under trunk floor gets reusable shopping bag, manual, compressible dog bowl, jumper cables. I should put the Koni compression adjuster in there!
I didn't find that spot large enough for the tire goop, and now I have the kit with light & electric pump, so that just lives in the trunk.

I also carry a "Get Home Bag" with FAK, more tools, other important stuff in the corner pocket of the trunk, behind the passenger-side wheel well. Driver's side back corner houses the amp rack. Vert has limited trunk space anyway, but when she was new-to-me (the car, not the wife) I had my wife & 2 kids with me, and we somehow stuffed all our bags for a weekend in there.
I frequently take 2 passengers and our bags and make it work.

Me three. At the end of the day my 1er will always be a streetcar/cruiser to me (one that will still smoke some dickhead in an Aussie V8 lol). I need any and all comfort options to stay.
