Apex 17x9 Track Wheels Group Buy
I know this is a small forum, but just in case people are reading in the app or don't regularly visit the other forums I thought I'd share this in the track section.
Apex has created a 17x9 ET52 wheel that is a specific fitment for the E82 chassis. The group buy is open now and we're about half way there to the maximum discount. More info in the links: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1838233 https://www.gangup.com/apex/apex-arc...2-q2-2021.html

Sigh. And I just spend a grand on 255/35/18 R1R's for my current wheels...

Yeah, I hadn't planned on getting new wheels this year either. I'm probably going to have to sell a set once these Apex show up.

Anyone have an opinion on the Nitto NT01 R-Comps they can add on to this?

I dunno...other R-comps? I am in the middle of deciding if I am ready to move up to R-comps and this seems like a convenient opportunity if I get the wheels.
EDIT: My experience set is small. First 200TW tires I started using 4 years ago...RE-71s. Loved em and burned through a lot. Car is setup now such that R-comps would be usable (suspension, oil baffle, accusump). Friend said try Federals first because they are cheap.

They are comparable in lap times to the faster 200tw cheater tires (RE71R, RT660 etc) but are much more consistent over a session and will very likely last longer. I don't what tires you're currently running or your experience level, but if you have experience with 200tw tires already and aren't still a track newbie then the transition is nothing to worry about. They are still audible at the limit (just less then a street tire) and break away fairly progressively. They work fine on a damp track, just aren't very good in the wet when there's standing water. |

I think I'll justify this to myself by keeping my 18" heavy wheels with the R1R's as my "wet tires" and the 17" Arc-8's with NT01's as my "dry tires". Makes it sound all professional and all...
