Fun Roads in the DC/MD/VA area
Anyone have any good recommendations for fun twisty roads without much traffic? Need an excuse to do some miles!

Hit up WV.
100 times better than any MD/VA road. Its a bit of drive (an hour or so) into the state but at right time of the day, it can be heavenly. Sometimes you will have a hard time chasing down locals in pickups. |

I always liked the very south end of GW Parkway from Alexandria to Mount Vernon in the summer with the leaves hanging low over the road.
If you visit the eastern shore drive around Blackwater. My favorite drives are to Elliott Island (Elliott Island Rd.) and Hoopersville.

You have to get out the Piedmont to find great roads. Or better yet the Appalachians. Try 29 south to 33 west....take 33 west to at least Monterey then south to 250 and east. Freakin heaven on earth.
Almost any road you take will lead you to what you need.....

Let me know when you go and perhaps we will meet up. Spring would be better now.....the mountains they put some nasty salt gravel comb down that is awful.

Yeah not the best road tripping time unfortunately but I have a list now. Maybe we can organize a mid-atlantic drive.
