Convertible Comfort Access

I am looking for some info from convert owners with the comfort acesss;
I just looked at the pdf 135i owners manual (from this website) and it says you can only open the top remotely "when a remote is located inside the vehicle."
is this saying, you cannot remotely lower the top when you are approaching/outside the car? i'd like to hear from some current owners please!!!!! thank you!!!!
the dealer is waiting for my call! thanks!!!

As I pick up my 128i convertible in 2 days you had me worried... But check out page 20 - it says the remote must be within about 13 feet to open or close the top & windows.

when i was trying it at the dealership, the range seems pretty decent. You have to keep the bmw button depressed though, but I guess it's a safety issue.

You have to keep the top down button on the dash depressed the entire time to lower the top when your in the car too from what I remember from my test drive of a 128 vert.

Just to make sure I've got it right, you can only open the cabrio's top remotely with CA?

On p.22 of the one series manual posted on 1Addicts, it says that the top may also be raised or lowered by holding the key in the driver's door lock - if you have either CA or the optional alarm system.
Using the key was available on my Z4, but I'm glad I ordered the CA for my 128i.

What I meant was, that I was standing about 5 feet away from the vert when I opened and closed the roof..
Not in the car..
