Nice!! You have a picture from farther away?

What size and offset are you going to run in the rear?

I took it off since I don’t have any tires on rn lol.

I’m going to run them squared with 245/40/18

Thank you for posting this, it makes me feel way better about ordering the parts for the brake conversion while I'm still waiting on my VS-5RS to ship.

I think with that, every wheel has been confirmed to fit from apex with the exception of the flow formed apex arc-8.

My friend is running the sm-10 on his f22 with f80 brakes, the fl-5 has the same clearance as sm-10, the ec-7 has been confirmed to fit as well. And most forged 18 inch wheels should fit.

I have the flow formed Arc-8's on my car currently so I should be able to confirm the fitment once I source the parts and get them installed.

I can confirm that apex arc-8 flow formed 18x8.5 et 38 does not fit. It rubs on the barrel. It was my wheel before the vs5rs

I'm guessing that means arc-8 flow formed 18x8.5et45 won't fit either Looks like I need new wheels once my 370mm rotors need replacing

If you’re up to the task of shaving down the caliper and adding a spacer, it will clear. You also need to make sure you run pads without the silver vibration dampeners.

I'm about to buy a second set of wheels that will clear according to communication with support.

I'll report back my findings.

Quick question as I’m currently doing the same. Have you had any issues retaining the cut down dust / mud guards?

I live in the UK, car will be more of a weekend car and I’m curious as to whether the existing cut down 338mm shields are enough to not cause any issues with the brakes?

May sound a stupid question but I’m just curious!

Thanks!

Sorry. I don’t fully understand your question. Are you referring to the front or rear? Maybe pictures would help.

Sorry!

So the standard heat shields on the front and rear, need cutting down to fit the new F8X brake setup (as shown in the original images of this thread). Usually the heat shield covers the entire rear face of the disc, to protect it against mud and grime getting on the disc, along with protecting the arms etc from heat and brake dust. I was wondering if anyone that had done this conversion had ran into any issues retaining the existing 135i heat shields. As in, does dirt / grime get onto the disc and effect braking or anything like that!

Ohhhh. You could retain most of the heat shield minus the trimming needed to get the calipers fit. I just cut my fronts to hopefully increase cooling, and the parts I left in place were to protect the bushings close To the disc. I’ve had no issues with it this way. Hopefully that helps!

I didn't have to cut anything when I added my F80 brakes. Maybe because I only went with the 340mm rotor? Maybe I bent something for clearance but I have no recall of having to do so...

Front or rear? Not sure if the larger rotor helps or not. Does the 128 come with different dust shields?

For anyone that’s done this what did you do for pad wear sensors? F80, E82, or delete and code them out? Im trying to get everything ordered and sorted before my new wheels show up.

Edit: Does anyone happen to know if the style 313s off a 135is fit over the F80 brakes?

I used the factory 135i sensors.

No clue on the 313s, sorry. Please post back if you test fit them.

How is your brake master cylinder holding up?
I’m noticing inconsistent brake pedal feel on mine at the track. I think I need to replace it since it’s 15 years old and would resolve this. Would the stock 135i be fine?

Mine is good so far. I have about 62k miles on my car.

I am not sure if an m3 or a 135i MC would be better. If I was replacing mine I initially would go with an M3 MC but after driving my car I am not so sure.

Only thing different is the take up portion.

Master cylinder diameter is the same....
