APEX VS5-RS (w/coding for speed/odo correction)
For the record, this just barely fits. Still on stock suspension.

Phenomenal. May switch to these when I do my rear end.
Did apex revise their 1M front fitment? Have 18x9.5 etc 22 on my front with 275/35 mps4s. Rubs at full lock on right side.

I also looked into the coding aspect of getting the speedometer and odometer to read correctly from smaller diameter wheels/tires and also went with this setup because rolling diameter is almost the exact same as non-M3 E9x 18" spec.
To code the speed/odo correction, it is in the KOMBI module. I changed these stock parameters: Quote:

I have tested using the digital, non-corrected, speedometer versus 3 "Your Speed IS" signs in my neighborhood to confirm and seems to be dead-on. I also did a distance test of the odometer/trip-meter vs google maps distance, which also appears dead-on. Last edited by PRTSB1M; 10-07-2022 at 02:38 PM.. |

How is the inner clearance to the front strut assembly? If I recall correctly that was our main concern. Quote:

With the 265/35/18 et28, there is better clearance away from the spring perch, but only 3-4mm from strut tube (again, measured with my blind finger). I don't think you could fit a 275/35/18. Quote:

Cleaned up my notes on coding the tire diameter correction for smaller 18" setup. I can confirm that running "execute job" with empty FSW_PSW.MAN will reset to stock.
After coding a few different times, I did the following sequence to try different settings: 1. Make sure time is set (it will be ---- after coding KOMBI) 2. Turn off ignition, remove key 3. Open door, Close door 4. Insert key, push start w/o clutch 5. Make sure OBD-USB is connected, COM9 6. Set FSW_PSW.MAN file to settings I wanted 7. Execute Job Last edited by PRTSB1M; 10-11-2022 at 07:07 PM.. |

I was able to get the car on a drive-on lift today, for pictures of inner clearance. Looks better from this angle than I thought it would from reaching back there.

Love it; after more than 10 years there’s still a next level tire&rim fitment presented: This is just perfection. Well done APEX, and thx for this enticing presentation. Technically the ultimate specs for 1M rims, but esthetically they are just a smidge trailing the best BBS designs. This is on my wishlist!
