$2400 installed for 3 injectors/6 spark plugs

Was getting miss fires, took it into Crevier BMW, was quoted $2480 for bank 2 injectors and all spark plugs installed/replaced.
Bank 1 njectors were replaced about 20k miles ago with index 11 injectors.
Bank 2 injectors are currently index 7.

Is it just me or should I be asking for some anal lube right about now?

Anyone local to SoCal have any Indy shop recommendations?

I don't know first hand but I've heard AMAZING things about Offset Motorwerks in Covina. I'm fully planning on getting my valves cleaned there

a full set of 6 injectors is about $1000.. and it shouldn't take more than an hour to install/code, hour and a half if they're really slack about it.

spark plugs are all of what.. $10-15 a pop, and take 5 mins to install on top of the injectors.

.
You have to code the injectors?

Damn.

What DIY programs will do that type of coding?

Update:
After some back and forth with my SA, I managed to get a few hundred knocked off the bill. It's a pricey fix no mater how you look at it but at least I'll have some peace of mind with the parts and labor warranty right from BMW.
I do think if I had dealt with my regular SA this would not have happened.

yes

INPA is used, it's not too complex, there's full hand-hold step by step DIY guides for it.

it's because the piezo stack (thing that moves when electricity is applied to it) in each injector is slightly different, so you're telling the DME exactly how different it is.

it'll work without coding, yes, but it won't be 100% perfect.

Injectors are $230~ each, plugs are a bit over $10. I would say a fair estimate would be 1 hour for 6 plugs and 2 hours for bank 2 injectors with coding. If your labor is 150 per hour then youre around 1200 to 1300. That's the most I would pay personally.

Damn these injectors are pricey...

Garage List
2008 135i  [6.00]
Rock Auto has genuine BMW injectors that are index 12 for $120. I just replaced all six of mine. They're labeled SMP, but they are the manufacturer bmw uses for the injectors. All six of the injectors that came in had the BMW logo and QR code scan. My local indy shop was able to code them and now my car runs like a champ. I wish I took pics of them, but trust me they're the right injectors.

See attached thread on page two, these are the exact injectors I got for $120 bucks each

Shoot for $2500 bucks I'd buy the necessary tools to do the job and learn to do it yourself.. Coding isn't too difficult, you just need to get the hang of it.

Hey guys! (specifically: 714_1er , MT135 , delta-9-ginseng , scythe1969 , HyeWarrior )

We have customers coming in nearly everyday for services like Walnut Blasts (special pricing info at end of this post!), new injectors (purchase only and / or purchase and install) We see that some of you are looking for a reliable place in Orange County to be able to bring your cars in for maintenance and service! Well.. we'd like to introduce ourselves!

Heres a little cheesy blurb that will help you learn a little more about who we are and what we do:

Started in Southern California by Shah Siddiki and Zayn Batasee, SSR Performance began as an aftermarket BMW parts manufacturer. With the Mechanical and Aerospace engineering backgrounds of both co-founders, designing parts was second nature. Along with the sale of parts came the undeniable need for a location to be able to install these parts. With over 10 years of combined automotive expertise between the founders, the decision was made to open SSR Performance's first location in beautiful Huntington Beach, CA. Today SSR Performance is a thriving business that takes care of any and all aftermarket modifications, repairs, and upgrades on new model BMWs.

At SSR Performance you never have to worry about the "BMW tax". All of our services and installs are VERY reasonably priced with our customers in mind. We have some of the highest ratings on Yelp!, Google, and Facebook, for three reasons. We promise and deliver high quality, honesty, and uncanny customer support! When you bring us your vehicle we will make sure to take care of it as our own.

On a side note: We are currently having an insanely popular Walnut Blast Special for Bimmerpost forum members for only $250! (link to that thread: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1213028)

You can pick up 6 injectors from Rock Auto for under $750 and do it yourself for free.

Injector install is literally a 15 min job.

Coding is very simple for a DIY or seek out a coding service which can also help. The coding aspect is a 10 min process once you have the software.

You should ask them if KY jelly is included in that price or not. But in all honesty, take it somewhere else.
