I think it's supposed to be out as shown: I've seen the same thing on the fuel injector rail, with a blue plastic thingy instead of yellow.

Been quietly busy getting things together for the interior. Recaros Sportster CS ordered (12-16 week lead time then shipping from Germany ), custom covers by Recaro Max being made right now, sent off a bunch of trim prices to be done in carbon, and got in spare rear seats to clean up and dye the new color.

I also got a new roll of vinyl to rewrap the car. After the poor experience with the shop that did the blue, I was turned off from the color so I'm going to do something I've wanted to for a while. Should go very well with the new interior stuff

Steering wheel went in yesterday, bought it off the forums used so the yellow stripe needs some tlc. Anyone have any experience on how to revive that leather stripe since it’s fading and worn out?

Just ordered again, overnighted the first I bought a month ago...
Won't make the same mistake twice!

I got the Stahlbus version, but things like this are worth every penny - especially if you have an aluminum oil pan!

Looking at getting index 12's if all goes well...
This actually leads me right into a question...

I've searched the forum to figure out the pros and cons of going fuel-it stage 2 bucketless...
So I don't know necessarily need advice there(i would definitely want a bucket)...
I've also read that fuel-it has had issues with their fuel pump(want to steer clear of that...
I've always said that my end goal was to achieve 500whp as reliably as possible...

So my question is:
Can RB turbos reliably get me to 500whp without the need for Ethanol and LPFP upgrade?
(Would definitely need a separate tune I assume, I don't know if a ots mhd tune could do it)

what's a good price for old headlights?
100K miles, lenses and wiring show every bit of it, and from an '09, so pre-LCI

I'm gonna list my old ones, just can't settle on a ball park starting place

I'd scuff it, mask it off and paint it with enamel model paint.

Where did that motorsport emblem come from????

I custom ordered the front, rear and steering wheel emblems from a guy who makes emblems. You can browse his Instagram: oemcustomz
Craftsmanship on these emblems is next level and really gives your bmw more character

Mint interior and it looks brand new! How many miles?

I changed the oil today with Pennzoil euro L 5w-30.

I am not a sucker for marketing but that Pennzoil commercial with the M6 having fun in the snow really sold me :seesaw:

Had to order a new locking mechanism for the ski pass-through. Went to stick a trim board through there the other day, and the latch fell apart in my hand.

Shouldn't you be using 0W-40?

I mean I could, I think either is fine. But isn't the 5W-30 better for summer since it's more viscous?
I drive mine basically april-november.
0W-40 is thinner I believe which is great for winter.

Do you use 0W-40?
I could try that next time

Being old, I always assume specifying any 0-weight oil is done more for EPA mileage testing than longevity of the engine. Anyone want to make a case for that being wrong-headed?

Oh geez I think we just opened up pandora's box with the discussion of which oil to use!!!

I'm pretty sure 0W-40 is the recommended weight and that's what I've always used for this N52 engine.

I think the "use a thicker oil in the summer" is an old school practice.

I'll use it next year if wallyworld has it. Thanks old man!

Castrol 0W-40 myself too, you might find the below video helpful, not that our engines ever reach those temps but goes to show.
