Car appears to be possessed or completely failing
Got a yellow water temp light. I got a little nervous as it is 29 degrees out and I'm not in the best neighborhood.
Turned off the a/c (defrost), opened the windows and cranked the vent to high. Noticed I had very little power in the engine, but no 1/2 power symbol. THEN BING RED TEMP WARNING and then no power. Pulled over and turned the car off. Opened the hood. Couldn't smell anything really. I've had cars that have overheated and this wasn't it. Let it sit for a few minutes. Started right up, no warnings, nothing. Drove it to a friends and let it idle for 15 minutes...No problems. Turned it off and let it sit for 6 hours and then drove home an hour...no problems Drove to work yesterday morning...no problem. Called service and made an emergency appointment at 8am Monday. Drove home from work yesterday...BING new code 1. A circle with an exclamation point in it and the "brake" light. (yellow and then red. Insufficient brake fluid icon.) Drove to work this morning...BONG another new code along with the 2nd one) 2. Driving control system failed (DTC Circle with an exclamation point in yellow and red and the little icon like when you completely take it off) Very nervous. Car seems fine. I haven't tested the traction control capacity. Anyone experience these gremlins? 39000 miles '11 135 6mt

Don't have the scan tool. But I read and posted in a different thread about maybe it being the Water Pump/Thermo, but the DSC and brake warnings are not even connected to that.
Kinda nervous, however I am still under warranty

If you wheel alignment is considerably off, sometimes it can set off the steering angle sensors and cause traction control and brake warnings.

Go to autozone and have them read the DTCs. Then we can help you.

Just take it to the dealer, you're under warranty. More than likely its just some sensors that have gone goofy.

She's been at the dealer since 8am. When he ran my key for the thrown codes the TEMP code didn't show up. The others showed up. He thinks it is a wheel sensor. Put me in a loaner, but said he would have it done in an hour. They can have it for a month if it gets fixed right. Got a 328xi loaner. Happy tooling around in that until I hear back. Stay tuned

Whelp, just called an hour ago.
He said the water pump was failing. They will replace tomorrow. However, they have not determined what has cause the DSC and brake fluid warnings. They are gonna try and calibrate the wheel sensors to start. Stay tuned. Weird how all this happened in 3 days.

Thanks for the replies guys. Talked with the dealer earlier today.
The replaced the water pump. They calibrated the other sensors for the DSC/braking system. I will look over the work order once i get it back. I am going to be at work from 8-6 tomorrow and they don't have a valet service...so might have the loaner another day or two :-)
