Fifty3bags > Thanks man, its getting there.

On the conversion front, I here ya. Maybe little-by-little. The most important part is the rear. The parts you need to get the work done are minimal. It really comes down to whether or not you plan on keeping your car.

BTW, Just checked out your build. That drop is serous -- looks nice! Are you rubbing in the back at all?

I need to tuck my rears in a little bit. Ride-height wise, I can't go any lower...I'll destroy my shit if I do. I'm only on H&R sports. Not too familiar with coils or camber kits. What do you think? I seriously only need to go in about 5-10mm.

Update >

Hey guys, so I took a look at my home page today and it's an organized mess. I mean, it's a shit-load of information and the page is looooong. Thinking of breaking down the build by categories (opening new threads) for each section thus making it more user friendly. This thread will stay as the main hub though.

What do you think?

keep it all in a single thread and in the first post, have a table of contents with links to the appropriate page for the topic. That will be the most helpful and organized way. Once you spread it out into separate threads you will find a lot of people asking you the same questions to stuff you have answered in another thread.

Update>

Thanks guys, I took the plunge and split it up. Check out the home page and tell me if it makes sense and if it flows a little better. I was really having a hard time updating and finding things.

Overall this update makes it alot better/cleaner (IMHO) to navigate and understand the phases of the project.

I've realized that not everyone is going to do the whole conversion in one-shot, or for example...some have already done the front-end. Like I said, it's a little easier to focus on whatever part you're on and not have to dig thru the mud. Also, the answers to specific "section" related questions can be found a little easier.

If I get alot of negative input, then I'll merge it all again.

ilikebmxbikes> You're spot on but the forum software is a little limited. Ideally, it would have been great to keep it all in one page and create a table of contents/navigation with anchor links. Unfortunately, it requires some html which gets wiped out by vbulletin.

Yeineken > Thanks! Hood should come in today. If I'm lucky and time allows, I'll scoop it up tonight. If not, I'll wait for delivery on Wednesday/Thursday.

Diffuser and wing are about 3-4 weeks away.

Update >

Haven't done an update in a while. Here are some of the latest pics. Finally got the harness back up and running. I also popped in my Cyba Scoops. Oh yeah, the hood is on as well. Gonna spend one of these weeks re-adjusting everything, lights, fenders, hood, etc. I also got the scavenge air line from ECS tuning after a few weeks. Diffuser and spoiler should shit out next week. Once I have that in, I can get the exhaust made.

ilikebmxbikes > Thanks man. Initially that was the idea...but when you install the CF hood and your up close - it wows you a little bit. It's on my radar tho. I've been trying to decide on the color combo. After looking at the options, I think I'm gonna dip it -- sick color variants.

I'm leaning towards this:

The idea here is to two-tone it between the fiery orange and slightly lighter-orange...or yellow. So fiery-orange/lighter-orange or fiery-orange/yellow.

Tun3D > 1 is coming along nicely. Great job!

Can you post more pics when you have time of the interior (back seat area) after the back-half roll hoop and harness bar is installed? Are your rear seats in or out? If in can they still be folded down completely? I just bought a set of 19" APEX PS-7 wheels in Satin Black to take advantage of their Cyber Monday deal that will be my 1's "street shoes" after I complete my 1M rear conversion this Spring, but looking for interior room to bring my 18" ARC-8's with track rubber on with me to the track next year.

Sk8fe > For sure man. The harness bar is back up in full capacity so I'll snap some pics later today if the weather holds up.

I took out both back-rests, but you don't have to. They can be folded down instead. I eliminated them as it's useless/dead-weight. If you plan on taking the bar out frequently (which BTW, you'll figure out how much of a PITA that is), then I guess you can leave them in. Otherwise, the back-rests will permanently be in the down position. As an option (when off the track), you can disconnect the X bar from rear strut bar and close the seat....but that's about it. Like I said, it's a PITA to connect and disconnect. I left the bottom seat in -- light-weight and dresses the cabin a little more.

Here are some pics to give you an idea: http://www.brrperformance.com/blog/?p=230

With some finagling, you can get a wheel in the back seat area + one in the trunk. If your not taking someone, front seat out is always a great option.

Looking great man. Really looking forward to a CF hood. How was installation?

MBM6F > Install was easy. Around 20-30 minutes including taking off the OEM hood + adjustments. The only issue I had were the struts. I ordered Stabilus M3 hood struts (which everyone raves about), and they were stiff as heck. I mean more so that the stock E82 struts. I tried breaking them in manually and nothing -- so I returned them. Maybe they were defective or something was up. I'm just gonna pay a little more and get the OEM M3 struts.

Other than that, I love it.

BTW, not trying to be picky -- any chance you can unquote the previous post? Just edit it, this way the thread is not redundant. Thank you.

OEM M3 struts are the way to go. They are much softer than the e82 ones.
