My first BMW: 2010 128i no service records

Hello all.

I recently purchased my first BMW, a 2010 128i that was a California car. It's a N52 SULEV. I got a fantastic price on it, but it has no service records at all. It has 90,000 miles on it.

I've changed the oil and air filters (cabin and engine). What other service/maintenance would you recommend that I do right away? What can wait a few thousand miles or more?

Transmission fluid change? plugs? brake fluid?

I might occasionally track it - HPDE. It's my daily driver, and I'm in sales so I drive a lot; 20-25k per year.

Edit: it's an automatic. Wanted something my wife could drive when I take her Subaru to Mt. Hood for skiing.

Al the "Lifetime " fluids. Trans, Diff.

DO radiator flush.
Brake fluid.
If manual remove CDV.

Maybe proactively a water pump and thermo housing.

Congrats They are great!

Yep, standard policy for me is to do all fluids on any used car I buy.

I would personally replace the water pump + thermostat and any plastic couplings in the cooling system that look questionable--definitely do the expansion tank because they do fail. At 90K miles your car would be about ready for its third pump by some people's measures. You drive a lot and the pumps are known to not last that long in many cases and a failure will leave you stranded. I plan to replace my pump (same part as your car) in another 3K miles at 50K so it doesn't strand me while road tripping.

I don't think N52/N51s go through water pump so quickly? It is better to be safe than sorry but..

I believe general consensus was that 335/135 models require some earlier replacement cycle?

Welcome. Google "Mike Miller's Maintenance Schedule" and follow it. Properly maintained, you should have a fun, reliable car.
