Near Dream-Spec 128i
Hey guys,
I'm not sure where else to post this but it was too good not to share. Full disclosure, I'm in no way affiliated with the seller of this car. A good buddy of mine found this car while browsing the other night and sent it my way because he knew I would have a full blown crisis. To me, this is the best spec'd 128i I have ever seen. Here's a quick rundown: 2013 128i M-Sport 6 Speed Sunroof delete Red interior BMW Performance BBK BMW Performance Intake BMW Performance Aluminum Strut Bar BMW Performance Wheels The only thing this is missing is xenon lights but its tough to argue with all those options and less than 9k on the clock. I think somebody should pick this up, retrofit xenons and black line tails, add the BMW PE and call it a damn day. Does anybody else get this excited when they stumble upon a car with such strange yet awesome options? http://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/de...0938/overview/

It happened to me 5 years ago so ordered my space gray 128i MSport, coral red, standard transmission, sun roof delete, xenon adaptive headlights. With the lease ended l kept it. Now it has 43k miles. Got he AA headers and 3 stage manifold in the garage to install it soon, with an AA tune. I really like this car and can't think on any new car within the same budget, to replace it.

Ohlins Suspension Sticker on Strut bar. Hmmmmmmm.
Love the package it has on it. That car is underpriced. Bet it got traded on a new Miata MX5.

Nice car - super low miles! Probably the most pristine example on the market. A few things:
- No xenons is a bummer. I understand a retrofit is possible, but not without considerable expense and probably a few headaches. Still, probably worth it for a really cherry 128i. - What is going on with those black headrests? I bet the PO swapped them out to play up the two-tone effect. personally I think it looks awful and would switch back to Coral headrests ASAP. - Why is the headlight switch chrome-trimmed? I new BMW made them like that, but I didn't think the 1 Series got them. Anyone else have a car that came with a switch like that? I've only ever seen them in black. Maybe different years or option packages came with different trim, or the PO swapped the switch. - The listing makes no mention of the suspension, but Ohlins sticker on the strut bar? Wonder what that's all about? |

+1 on the headrests. I really hate what they did with them. I would change that back ASAP as well. |

Yeah I think mine have the chrome trim as well. And +1 more on someone that hates those black head rests on the red seats. Man that looks ugly. Probably won't be too much to fix. The price on this seems kind of low though, low enough to make me suspicious. I'm pretty sure I saw 128i with double that mileage go for the same price or more.

Wow, great find. If I didn't already have one I'd be on the phone. Basically a new car with all the right stuff and some very expensive upgrades already done. Looked for 6 months, every day, to find a 6MT, Sport Pkg. If you want one of these, you can't be fussy about options, they're just too hard to find. Buy it then deal with it. If you want the last classic BMW this is it.

How late did they build these in 2013 before shutting down the line?
N51 motor Someone go drive the car and report back!!! Those brakes must be great and the Ohlins (which I assume are installed due to the sticker) superb. Honestly, I'd keep looking until I found one with Xenon headlights. I wouldn't mind a few compromises if it had them.

This car was up on 128i fb group a while back.
That car was traded in for the mx5 according to the dealer.. I was thinking about swapping my '11 128i with 50k with it but in the end it didn't make financial sense and I wasn't ready to give up the luxuries of my 128i for the unicorn. Kudos to the person that picked it up. |

Imagine my surprise when, while browsing the forums to learn more about my new car, I found this thread. Always satisfying to find closure on stuff like this, much less be the one to provide it!
When this was posted on the 17th, I was in Chicago for work and had just put a deposit on the car by phone. I flew home to the Bay Area on the 19th, finalized financing on the 21st and 22nd, and drove ten hours round trip with my six year old to pick up the car. The dealer sucked as dealers often do, but I got the car, and it's great. No Ohlins suspension -- just the factory M Sport. Either it's been put back to stock (no obvious marring on bolts under the car though) or could that just be an Ohlins strut bar? Or just a fanboi sticker? The options package is damn close to what I'd pick for myself. I'd have added the xenons and the HK audio (loved both in my long-gone E90 335i) and left it as-is otherwise. I added a bluetooth bridge to the aux jack and ordered a set of black kidneys from Tischer. I'm going to buy myself the BMWP exhaust for my birthday in April, and it's probably going to get a factory roof rack to enable trips along the coast with my wife and two kids. Other than that, I'm going to take care of it, keep it all OEM, and barring unforeseen circumstances, keep it forever. It really is one of the last classic BMWs. I sold my wife on the idea of a 2002 when we visited the Welt in Munich last year, and this car is basically the modern equivalent. It's simple, fun, has understated good looks, and I totally lucked out to find this basically new car. Oh, and no luck on the red headrests, and ~$700 for a set from Tischer. It'll probably stay two-tone for a while. I'm not bothered by it; they look fine in person. I tracked down the original owner but haven't heard back yet as to whether he might have them lying around. Haven't had a chance to take real photos yet, but here's a few: View post on imgur.com Last edited by squidge; 01-04-2016 at 01:39 PM.. Reason: added photos |

And regarding price, stickers on the windshield said $26995, which I'd call high. I think it likely sat around for a while and then got an aggressive internet price. They wouldn't come off the $23995 at all. Worth it.
I put 8k down and financed the balance at 2.0% for 36mos. |
