Finally, got to install M3 alcantara steering wheels with M3 dct unit.
Didn't know the steptronic unit didn't fit the M3 steering . And end up buying a M3 dct paddle shift unit. Another day... |

Replaced my driver's side door today.
It was hit whilst parked and the other car did a runner. Cheaper to replace the whole door than get it fixed via insurance. Since I bought the door used, I had to strip out and swap over: The power window motor Door handle and lock Mirror Window trim and seals Lock actuator Wiring loom The only thing I didn't swap was the window as it looked very tricky to remove. Tedious job but not overly difficult. Biggest pain was when I dropped two bolts down into the side skirt when trying to mount the door to the chassis! I looked everywhere for the bolt on the ground as I didn't initially think my luck would be so bad that the bolt went into the side skirt! YouTube is my best friend for diy guides. |

Got my car back from SpeedLogic, new starter installed, hopefully she won't leave me stranded again for at least another week.
Some really nice 135i's down at Rob's shop yesterday. Seems like everyone is rocking some version of the m4 carbon rear wing. Green with envy every time I go there, some of you guys have some beautiful builds, and I almost never see them here on the forums. Started talking to Rob about going Pure Stage II..... 2020 gonna be a good one.

Car to dealer. Got a sweet X5 loaner.
Found out that the FRM Footwell module recall went from 8 years to 10 years. Woo Hoo. Coded out Fog lights here I come!!!! Got the fan motor recall, the PCV recall and my M3 control arms aligned. Working on the car going dark. Car will lose power while parked. sometimes it is back when you get in sometimes stays dark. On three occasions shuts off while rolling to stop with clutch in. Never had it shut off at speed or at night thank God. The B+ cable/ fusebox recall was done in 2013 but symptoms are exactly the same. Thought is maybe the corrosion on the fusebox is creating new problems. They are inspecting and will let me know. Will be interesting to see how they handle this!!!

Got a call from the dealership today...besides the OFHG, the oil pan leaking too...by the way, that smell from the AC? evap needs to be replaced. They are going to have Carmax Insurance Rep look at the car for approval, then begin R&R parts. Over $4000 so far. Thank God I bought that warranty!!!

Got the windows tinted. These cars definitely need some help looking more aggressive and this did the trick for my black 1er. 15% Llumar ceramic all around, though I swear it looks lighter (which I prefer) than what most 15% films do...

I like that, and need to do that to my 128. Do you have any details on what you specifically bought and how you installed? Would be appreciated.... You can DM if you like...

(Mostly) completed retrofitting an E9x M3 cluster. Just need to sand down the bottom and sides so it'll fit into the smaller space in the E82 dash.
Simple process once I had all the tools together, I'll do a quick write-up in the DIY section when I can. Just about everything works. Variable red-line moves up the tach as oil temp rises, oil temp and fuel read correctly (it's nice to have a more usable range of oil temps; M3 cluster starts at 120*F vs 160 on the 135i cluster). Biggest win is that I fixed my cruise control! For some reason it stopped working because of the old cluster (a communication breakdown was happening, but I have no idea what caused it). I'm very happy about that

It's the eccentric shaft sensor. Should replace it soon. Oil leaking through it can run back along the wiring and into the DME. Requires removal of valve cover to replace. We usually replace it at the same time.
