Meet Kat! Jet Black 135i Vert...

Few things...forgive the top up only pictures, I had tint work today and the windows can't go down for 24 hours hence the blue tape on the window controls. Since I spent so much time detailing her last night I figured I would get some top up pictures out to start as I believe I am the first 135i Jet Black Vert to post their car....

*CLICK ON THUMBNAILS FOR FULL SIZE!*

I like the sky reflected in the hood on this one...

Detail procedure <My first time>

-Verified dealer would only wash and not wax...

1.) Griots Car Wash
2.) Full car Griots clay bar
3.) Full car Griots machine polish 4
4.) Full Griots Paint sealant
5.) Full car Griots Best of Show wax

My first time using Griots other then my wifes Accord last week and I could not be happier. Their stuff is awesome.
Loves vs. Not Loves

Loves:
-Stupidly fast
-Great 6 speed...<OMG thank goodness I changed from Auto to Manual>
-Incredibly stable and QUIET in the cabin going 85ish. VERY little noise. Wife said it reminded her of the Coupe. WTG BMW.
-Awesome Steering wheel. If you don't get the sport pack you will kick yourself
-Very high end cabin <at least from what I'm use to>. Nice Nice Nice seats. VERY comfortable...I am 6'3" 245lbs.
-Premium High end stereo was worth the money. Crystal clear with top down doing 80 with good base. IPOD works fantastic. Prob the one option I didn't think I would use that surprised me the most.
-Bluetooth works GREAT.
-Interior...My wife was going on and on about the interior. With the Vert you have just the right amount of Black:Grey for contrast without it being over the top.
-Black seat belts really look awesome against the Boston Grey...which guess what? Has NO BLUE in it.
-With top down there is little wind in the two front seats.
-I love the Rims..very low profile and easy to clean.
-Exhaust note is VERY impressive outside the car, but not loud at all inside. Very nice.

Not so much love:
-Hard to reach seat belt
-Drink gets in the way of shifting <wish I had the extra cup holder>
-JB is a pain in the ass to keep clean, but I would get it again if I did it over LOL
-Little to much body roll on hard turns. Not horrific, but noticeable.
-Averaging 18 mpg...*sigh* keeping it at 5k rpm or less but it is Sooooooo hard! The car begs to be driven hard.

Stuff on Order <will be here tomorrow>

-Car cover
-Trunk mat
-BMW logo stem caps
-Aluminum Performance Pedals
-BMW seat covers <they throw on and off post Gym>.

I will add Top Down Pics in a few days once I can roll down the windows...Gives a much better view of the interior.

Will do, but as I said above I can't lower the windows for 24 hours thanks to the tint work done today. I will post a SLEW of new top down pics most likely on Sunday

The car really comes into its own with the top down and the Grey Boston leather contrasted to the Jet Black.

awesome pictures, i was actually hoping someone would post more with the top up since we've seen so much top down already; top up pictures are like an endangered species.

Thank you, my wife and I, both, have had people on here argue with us about that and WE HAVE THE GREY.

Love the car Katera, looks awesome. Don't let anyone tell you the vert is a chick's car.

You ought to be feeling VERY good about now!! Holy smokes!!

Hey, see if you can post a pic of those seat covers (and even the car cover). You make those seat covers sound easy, and I'd like to see what they look like. When my son gets in my vehicles after his baseball games, he drags half the infield back into the car with him. I lay down towels, but those seat covers could do the trick.

Damn... "Kat" looks good! Congrats again.

BTW, get a huge supply (like a freakin" tankful) of Speed Shine from Griots and plenty of their best microfiber towels. It'll keep that black looking good with minimum of care between washes. Also, that microfiber duster (not the regular duster) from Griots is very, very handy... a must have. You'll be posting me how much you like it.

Beautiful ride. 3-4 weeks left for me.

I see you decided to use the clay bar for the first detail. Did the car need it or were you just being obsessive like the rest of us?

I wanted to clay it before I sealed the paint. It was not as bad as I thought, but there was no doubt my clay picked up stuff the wash didn't. Clay+Griots speed shine makes it so easy I really had no reason not to.

With Black you just have to deal with having tiny little things show, but are only visible if you put our nose right up to the car with a flash light....which yes I did LOL. Step back a foot though and it's a mirror. I really like how deep the black of the JB is. It wasn't until I did my detail that I really appreciated it.

Another thing I forgot to mention IF you get Black.....GET COMFORT ACCESS! It is SO nice not having to stick and key in the lock and scratch it.

Love the black. I went with TiAg...but seeing your car, I'm thinking the darker color enhances the lines of the car more than the silver.

Thats why you get a dark silver if you're stuck in between, SGM.

Very nice pictures btw katera. Ive been a fan of grey and its always nice to see someone run with it. I noticed something though, whats the slimy crap on your steering wheel in those pics?
And, this may sound repetative to some of you, because I keep asking, what kind of camera are you using?

Thanks for that info. I think black looks the best but I just don't have the time required to keep it looking tip top. White great for us lazy folks.

Going out on a very thin limb I'd say it has got to be a Sony DSLR-A100.

I've spent more money with Griots the last week then I will ever admit, but I agree with everything you say. I have used more speed shine then anything, that stuff is gold. I did everything by hand the other night and just about died. I just got done ordering there 6" and 3" random orbiter as I have only heard good things about it..that and the duster LOL. It's so dusty around town with all the plants and such I think that thing is a must.

I am still shooting for Sunday to have the top down pics.

It is a Sony Alpha 100 as you can see it says it when you pull up the pictures hehe.

lol ya...that would be my slimy residue ahahaha. I didn't notice it until I posted the pictures. Long story short is I was sweating my ass off outside after finishing the detail and I must of leaned over and touched the steering wheel. It is just a little sweat that I cleaned off. Sorry to have that in the pictures, but I was snaping these quick just to give some people an idea of the Grey Boston leather as several were asking about it. Later this weekend my wife and I are going to take some much better pictures of the car with the top down with no sweat on the wheel LOL
