Want to send a special thanks to Garrett at TPMS for my new set of sensors. I started looking on realoem and had a hard time. Glad I ran into this site -- very easy to find the right sensors. Last edited by TUN3D; 10-30-2014 at 01:28 PM.. |

if your going to spend money for a CF diffuser - get a revozport one. Its includes the undertray, fits very well, is very well made with great weave and it looks the coolest.

ilikebmxbikes > Thanks man! She's coming along. I agree on the CF diffuser (on the splitter/lip as well). Not only are there not many options, but they all require custom installation. Revozport is the only company I've found that's $$ on the fitment along with pre-drilled holes. Worth the money IMHO.
Mode Carbon looks good, but I haven't been able to find as much info on the product. Everything on the web is "call for pricing", etc. For the time being, just looking for a stock 1M diffuser. I got a few more pressing things I need to get done before dropping money on the CF stuff. Last edited by TUN3D; 11-12-2014 at 02:29 PM.. |

how much did cost you to do the conversion ?
parts , paint , body shop , labor and time wasn't going to be better if you just sell it and get a used 1m ? |

a7med606 > Good question and thanks for checking out my post. For everyone who takes on this conversion, it's a bit different. You have some guys that have an accident and use insurance money to supplement the build, others have sponsors and a few (like me), go out of pocket.
Don't have the exact numbers on hand, have to go thru my invoices...but these are the prices I got (give or take $100 either way). Let me preface by saying that, because I went directly thru BMW, I got FREE shipping/delivery plus no taxes and a huge dealer discount. I also did 100% of the labor myself, minus the paint and bodywork. These prices do not include the diffuser, spoiler, exhaust or wheels. This is simply to get the car converted and painted. $2,016.64 -- Front Parts $1,417.59 -- Rear Parts including Quarters $0,839.83 -- PPK2 $0,500.00 -- For Shitz-N-Gigglz (Misc. nuts, bolts, clips battery) =================== $4,774.06 -- SUB TOTAL $1,500.00 -- MINUS PARTS SOLD (This could change as I still have parts available) =================== $3,274.06 -- TOTAL PARTS $4,000.00 -- LABOR & PAINT (I did not pay this) =================== $7,274.06 -- Realistic Figure for most people I came in at/about or just under $5K -- was really a no-brainier FOR ME. I did it in phases, over a 3-month span. Didn't really feel it as much. Like I alluded to above though, my numbers are not realistic. I have unbelievable resources and connections. As an example, I have unlimited access to a body-shop and lift. My car was literally raised for about 4-weeks straight while I sorted everything out. I took my sweet time and worked on it every-night for 1-2 hours. Not to mention that I did all the labor i.e. installing the PPK2, trunk & battery relocation, and whatever else needed to be done. To really answer your question, Nah -- it doesn't even come remotely close (money wise), to paying the $60k price tag of a true 1M. Now, there are significant differences between buying one and building one, don't get me wrong. If you're going balls-to-wall conversion including interior and suspension...watch out. That said, I still don't see it getting anywhere near the inflated cost. For me, I looked at it this way. I refuse to pay that much money for essentially the same car with better suspension, nicer seats and a 30hp tune. At that price, you get a used GTR and its game over. I've had two 135's to date -- back-2-back. I love this car, fell in love with it before the 1M came out. IMHO (given that I don't autoX), what stands out the most TO ME is the aesthetics of the 1M. The wide-body/stance is just plain bad-ass. For my purposes (1/4 mile sprint), the standard 135i suspension works just fine and is proven to hold up. It's also a luxury knowing that I can throw in M-Bits and get the suspension where it needs to be in case I change my mind. I'm hands on and always worked on my cars. This one, in particular, has been my favorite. When I saw the opportunity to visually turn my standard 1er into a 1M...the level of excitement was beyond comprehension. I've learned a shit-ton about this car and BMW as whole throughout the process. Even If I had the money to burn on a legit 1M, I would still do this conversion -- "The action is the juice". It's challenging, a ton of fun, and makes for good conversation (if your into that sorta thing). Did I mention the feel? You look at your car differently...you sit in it and it feels different. The majority of guys on this forum have modded their BMW's in different ways. Some more aggressively than others. Remember how you felt the first time you upgrade your car and took a ride? Well multiply that by 100 -- this is the ultimate mod for those who caught the bug. Note: I say "the ultimate" mod meaning for most normal people, albeit excluding ilikebmxbikes from that statement. Dude is on a different roller-coaster on a different planet, looking down and laughing at us -- LMFAO. Anyways, to bring it all into perspective, you're not getting that for $60k. You get something else when you buy a true 1M. Which option is better? To each his own you know -- depends what your looking for. Last edited by TUN3D; 11-11-2014 at 11:36 AM.. |

Looks great back from paint! Definitely need to get some spacers or different wheels. Right now it looks to me like a ricer that slapped on a bodykit with stock wheels
I know the work that has gone into this, don't take my words the wrong way. I know you'll get it sitting how you want, it just gave me a bit of a chuckle when I saw the gap from the wheel to the fender. How far off is the offset in person, I know it's noticeable, but is it as big as the pictures make it seem? |

Fifty3bags > LMFAO! No offense taken at all. I share the same sentiment. It's about a 2" gap all the way around...it's terrible. But wait, haha...speak of the devil, got the new wheels last night. No more rice-a-roni pics for you my friend.
