I just have the stock 135i Oil cooler. But during my build with everything being apart ill def add the secondary oil cooler so everything is OEM quality. But just trying to decide if im going with OEM or just upgrade to ER competition oil coolers.
How much are the OEM parts to add the secondary oil cooler? |

Yeineken > Ah ok, thought you didn't have one at all. The secondary cooler is not oil -- it's water.
The ER kit(s) look legit. Haven't seen any pics of a 1M rockin' it though, so I'm not sure about fitment. |

You guys are right that fitting a secondary Oilcooler could take up that space but large oilcoolers like the ER dual comp take up considerable space and cutting will be necessary of both the ducting and the fender liner. Most after market oilcoolers are made to replace the fActory one- not work injunction. So to get them to work together you would need custom oil lines. |

Right now, I'm running the stock oil-cooler and even after back-to-back pulls...temps rise but stay in check (approx. 250°F). My CP-e FMIC came with an extra oil-cooler, which I haven't installed yet. On my other 1er (this is my second), I had the exact same kit with the extra oil-cooler and my temps would avg. 200-210°F. After back-to-back runs, it would rise to about 230-240°F. That said, this is with a tiny supplementary in-line oil-cooler. I can't imagine what a legit/larger oil-cooler would do -- much less two of those mthrfkers...LMAO! Analyze what you're needs/goals are and go from there. No need to cut shit up unless you have to. I know that 250°F is pretty standard. I'm assuming the engine can handle more -- not sure of the thresholds. I would use that as you're base line. Last edited by TUN3D; 08-13-2014 at 04:22 PM.. |

adobeee > Added some pics today (light brackets and underhood shield). I also just added some fitment night-shots I took. I'll get more up soon.
Pics don't do it justice. This thing is hella-wide in person. That, or maybe I'm just accustomed to seeing the standard fenders and bumper. Last edited by TUN3D; 08-19-2014 at 08:36 PM.. |

Update >
I ordered the rear quarter panels, rear bumper, and relative mounting brackets yesterday. They have to come in from Germany so we're looking at 14-21 days. I haven't sat down yet to analyze all the parts, so I'll be doing that in the next week or so. Just like the list I compiled for the front, I'll be doing the same for the rear. I also ordered the PPK2 parts minus the fan and appropriate air-duct kit. Thanks to Qbrozen & scottn2retro for getting this list together. Note: As the parts come in and I run thru the install, I'll update the list as needed and post on the 1st page of this build. 17117602241 - Radiator 07147144953 - Hex nut with plate. M8-Z2 (x2) 17217540030 - Bracket, additional cooler (Secures the oil cooler to the core support) 07119903995 - Hex Bolt. M6X20-U2-8.8 17127602294 - Hose, radiator bottom-thermostat 64216963248 - Hose clamp 64219222129 - Heater Hose - Inlet 51647154545 - Front Bumper Carrier Bracket - L This weekend, the goal is to get the sideskirts on, relocate the horns for the PPK2 parts, and do a final fitment. I also have some more pics of last weekend I'll be posting. Last edited by TUN3D; 08-23-2014 at 04:51 PM.. |

Took the horns/mount out this weekend -- got some good pics. The relocation parts are coming in (brackets, bolts, etc.). When I have everything in place I'll throw up the DIY. The PPK2 is also on the way along with the rear fenders. Actually, got one of the fenders already. The other is en route from Germany. |

Badass. Wish the rear conversion wasn't such a PITA or i'd be on it in a heartbeat.
I'm trying to fit 245/275 on the stock fenders and it's kinda impossible.

135Pats > The rears are a PITA, but you'd be surprised. I ordered both OEM 1M rear quarters so I'm going about it a bit different. Maybe more economical. As it stands, I was able to get both of them for $850. Install, finish and primer came in at $1500. Considering the stories I've heard, this seems pretty reasonable. I'm getting the car wrapped as well -- so no paint work for me.
Shit yeah! 245/275 dropped (depending on the wheel) and you're rubbing all day and night. My old fenders were rolled really well. Best I could do is 235/265 on H&R sports (springs only) and VMR 710's. Front was ok -- rear rubbed on big dips. Right now, because of the front wide-body, my wheels are in about 2" -- LMAO! I'll be able to do 255's up-front with the conversion. Curious to see how that's going to feel and handle. Last edited by TUN3D; 08-18-2014 at 03:41 PM.. |

car looks badass. Reminds of of what mine looked like when I took it to the shop to get paint and the rear-end work.
You need to think about doing a Revozport CF roof - really finishes the car. |
