128i Euro Switch installed in 135i

Put this in this past wknd so that I can enable the rear fogs. I bought the 128 switch b/c it has an additional button for the front fogs, which I may use in the future for something else...something stealth.

So odd that they put the light in the dash and everything yet not give it to us from the factory.

This might be my next mod, I have found a few times where it would of been nice to have in heavy rain.

what I heard its a matter of when your car was built
i heard a lot of germans complaining that this has changed on the facelifted 3 series
the old way is the two line display. the new one is said inly to show one either that or that

Keep in mind that due to the high intensity of FOG lights, they aren't always ideal in heavy rain - they can cause dazzle, mask brake lights and can effect night vision (as the eyes of the driver behind adjust to the bright light, and everything else gets darker for them). I've personally never seen a time in rain where the fog lights produced a purely positive impact, especially on a nice modern car like the 1er where the standard rear lights are bright and clear. Sure, in dense fog where the light is scattered in every direction making the distance from which you are visible much shorter they make a lot of sense, but in rain, even heavy rain, this doesn't really apply. I'd personally be concerned by the negative effects over your perceived benefits.

You say there are times when it would have been nice to have - have you been rear ended by someone who couldn't see you as you drove along in the rain with your standard lights? If so, I can understand your desire to try to avoid that, but just be careful you don't precipitate a different sort of accident in doing so!
