I have no doubt it will have the upper hand against the M5, E63 and RS7 in many instrumented tests. Good job GM, I'll have to make do with my lowly M5 for now
Let's just hope they didnt put the same conservative tune on this engine that is plaguing Z06 owners with power loss issues. Now that would really be a shame

Now if they'd just take a hint from AMG and give it AWD.
I had a 2011 V sedan and it couldn't hook worth a damn. On the track it would break traction at over 100mph on the 3-4 shift. Considering the new one has around the same power as my pullied 11 did, I expect to see the same from this one. |

This much power and I agree, AWD would be nice.
I love how it comes off all snouty and aggressive. If I needed a large saloon I think I'd be tempted.

Good thing it goes so fast because that thing is ugly as fuck.
When will American car designers learn that sometimes less is more? It looks like they just went to Pep Boys and tacked on a bunch of aero parts. |

How conservative do you want your 650hp sports sedan to be? Most people who are paying this type of money (and want a 650hp car) don't want thier car to look just like the 4 cylinder version. Much like M3 owners don't want their cars looking like a 325.

Lol sorry, but those German rivals look 100 times better than that God awful car.
I mean that hood alone is just atrocious. Well that front splitter on that blue M3 is ugly but the others are fine. In stock format the M and AMG variants look fine. Audi's RS division does styling best though IMO. I mean that spoiler and hood are just hideous. Luckily the spoiler is optional, sadly the hood isn't. Without the spoiler, the car looks much better. I just wish the hood wasn't so loud. And the emblem looks a little too small. I kinda miss the old school wreath and crest emblem. |

Other than the hood I think its a nice looking piece of machinery.....still undertated enough with only subtle hints (exhaust and side vents) of the brute force that lies beneath...I thought the CTS and redisgned E-Class were best looking in the segment. 5-series and A6 are a little too understated

In regards to fecurtis:
Audi has possibly the most snooze-worthy design studio in the world working on their HP cars. I mean really. S and RS should stand out. Good riddance to the wreath emblem. This new one is much better.

BMW and Mercedes fall somewhere in between, unless you go for one of those crazy "Black Edition" AMG cars. I mean holy crap a NASCAR style unpainted spoiler is available as an "option" for the CTS-V....give me a break. |

My first impression, exactly.
Otherwise, this thing is gonna be a beast. The ATS-V looks like it's gonna be an F8x killer.

This car can look much better if they delete led lights and re-design front and rear lights. The rear end design is horrible. There isn't much that is appealing with this design. GM needs to shake out their exterior design team.

CTS V sport looks better than the V. I had a feeling they we're going to let loose a creature like this after the ATS-V. Looks like it's going to scoot along pretty damn good though. I want a drive

Pricing isn't official and I know its a bit early to take it there but, considering the V-sport starts at 60k-63k, I would guess the V to start in low to mid 70k range ....BMW fandom aside, if you were on the market for a new M3/C63 would you consider this?.....it would surely make the test drive list for me..

Here's why I wouldn't consider it...the interior.
There's no question that Cadlilac/GM can match and likely exceed the performance of the German rivals. However, most of us and certainly the general public spend the majority of the time inside the car driving around town. As such the interior and tech need to feel just as special as the performance capabilities of the car and that's where GM/Cadillac fall short to the German rivals. The CUE infotainment stack in the Cadillac is inferior the German rivals by a long margin. Hopefully in the next iteration, GM will have the performance AND the interior tech and design to compete with the Germans. Then I'd consider it. Also not a fan of the 8 spd auto (and reading the reviews of the same tranny in the Z06 - it doesn't seem to be as good as marketed by GM) |
