New tires poll
We all have read the reviews and the Michelin PSS would appear to be the clear winner. I want to hear from those of you that opted for the P-ZERO or other tires with reasons why - the time for me to get new shoes is approaching quickly, likely due to too much TIMYOYO time.
Sorry of this thread is somewhat of a , I guess the question I'm really trying to get answered here is: What are the compelling reason not to opt for the PSS. |

You want a stiffer ride and more steering feel. And/or you want to save money. PSS stop great (gobs of traction), not sure what other street tires grab as hard.

I would get the PSS between those two, so curious why the Pirellis? I know the PSS can be kinda pricey, but the best, cheaper options that are extremely well-reviewed and pretty comparable would be either the bridgestone S-04 pole position or continental extreme contact DW tires. I had pirelli p-zeros on my previous car and wasn't a huge fan and thought they were kinda pricey for the performance. Love my PSS and may even put a set on my other car as well.

PSS hands down. P zero may be cheaper but there's a reason PSS are OE for Ferrari and BMW M. I follow a C63 board and it was the trend for members to ditch the OE pzeros for MPSS

Only downside for the PSS is that on stock alignment, you will eat up your outer sidewalls on the fronts because of sidewall flex in curves. And also the ride will be very soft on stock suspension for the same reason. If you have money or plan to have money into suspension upgrades, I can't see any reasons not to choose PSS.
Even on mostly stock suspension, I've done stupid things on these tires. Like taking a curve normally intended for 45mph at 70mph while on the throttle and it was well within the tires capabilities.

on my phone so I can't vote other. I like the federal ss595 tires. have 255 in the rear and 235 in the front. if you want something stickier then the 595 rs seem to be holding up well for another member. for the money for federals they last and they perform great. for the money you save its worth trying out. I've tried several different cheap tires over the past few years and these have performed great in dry and wet weather.

Bridgestone Pole position S-04's are well worth a look. That's what my 1er is wearing. The price is good also.

This time I went with yokohama, quite pleased with them. Good price/quality compromise.
My previous Toyos were shit...

Been with Vredestein for the last few sets. Love them. Quiet, firm sidewall, and GREAT grip, progressively lets go at the limit, and gives you plenty of warning before it does.

Which tire do you have? Can you compare it to the pss? I have no complaints with my pss, so I'm going to kill one more set of rears before the fronts are toast. I want to go even higher end than pss next time.

Dark, have you considered the Bridgestone RE71. More grip than PSS and great handling characteristics. Price is about par. I made a believer out of my buddy who is a die hard PSS user. I'm still waiting to see what thread life is going to be like.

Vorti. I find it on par, perhaps slightly better than the PSS. It's cheaper and lasts longer.
