Spent lots of time on the e36 related forums, now I'm first time posting on 1addicts!
Just purchased a 2013 135i bone stock, noticed a very faint vibration on the floor also can feel it on the arm rest when cruising at 70mph+. Called the dealer, car went in, tires (new) were road forced balanced and wheels were aligned. They found that one rim had a slight bend in it but they were able to balance it out. Get the car back. Vibration is still present. If I press in the clutch it goes away, if I let off the gas it goes away. Smooth as smooth can be under 70mph. Just wondering if anyone out there has a good idea of what should be addressed next??? I have a feeling that the dealer is going to say its the rim, but as I mentioned, push in the clutch and it goes away. I'd hate to drop the cash on a new rim only to find out that I've got a drive shaft that's out of balance or something. ![]() Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Yeah has to be drivetrain. Went back in to the dealer, took a ride w/ the shop foreman. He claimed that it was just the road. I'm taking it in to an independent (friend of mine runs it) to have it diagnosed. He has his money on a half shaft. Said they see those much more than they do drive shaft issues.
Once they figure out what's wrong I'm going to head back into the dealership with the independents findings and see what they say. |
