1M spacers

Is anyone running spacers on a standard set up with no issues.

I was running 12.5mm in the rear with the stock tire size with no issues. I recently changed my rear tires to the PSS in 275-35-19 and they rubbed with the 12.5mm spacers, so I'm need to get some 10mm.

For the street I run 10mm F, 5mm R. Didn't like the look of the 10s on the rear plus would likely rub w/ my suspension

Just read this on Turner's site and called and received the same advice from them on the phone. Can anyone confirm that this is or is not an issue? From what I have seen plenty of people run 10mm, so I can't imagine it's a problem...

**A note about 10mm spacers: Any 10mm spacer is considered a custom fitment. The stock hubcentric lip on BMWs can stick out by as much as 11mm. A 10mm spacer will bottom-out and leave a gap between the spacer and the hub which seriously compromises safety. The best way around this is using a larger spacer (12mm and larger do not have this issue) or check that the lip sticks out less than 10mm. In some cases you can modify the hub lip to get the 10mm spacer to fully seat on the hub.

I'm on H&R Sport springs with stock size tires at the moment. Plan to go to 255/275 or 265/285 tires in the near future. Turner wanted to sell me 12mm spacers, but I'm pretty sure that'll rub with with either of those tires and my ride height.

Anyone with 10mm front or rear have this issue? Which brand spacers were you using?

I just installed my Macht Schnell spacers this weekend and I'm running stock tire size on Michelin PSS with 12mm front and 10mm back on stock suspect suspension. I am rubbing at the front ever so slightly at almost full lock. I usually notice it when I'm backing out of my driveway that's on a slight vertical incline.

I don't have the revised fender liners so hoping to get those soon and replace the current ones.

Just fitted 10mm front and rear from ECS. I'm on H&R springs and OE tire sizes. I think these look good and should give room for wider rubber.

Need to double check 10mm spacers seat correctly as said above they can bottom out. I want to try 12mm all round on mine.

Exactly, That was me that mentioned that. I asked ECS for measurements of the depth of the hub bore before purchasing theirs. The measurements gave proper room and I confirmed when fitting they don't bottom out. Not all spacers are created equally, but I'm sure reputable brands have a better chance.

I measured with calipers on my car and the hub flange depth was 11.75mm.

I went with the 10mm since I'm on H&R springs and think I want to go with 265/285 tires which will hopefully still not rub. (I have the revised front fender liners as well).

Can someone explain me what's exactky the issue with running 10mm. I'm using Macht Schnall 10mm all around with PSS 255/275. Anything i should be worried about or to check? Had them for 4 month now .

I have 10mm in the back and 12mm in front...haven't seen any issues yet, but I've only had them on for 3 weeks now. I am rubbing at the front a little though with stock tire sizes so I ordered the new fender liners..hoping that fixes it.

The issue has to do with the depth of the bore for the hub flange. On some BMWs the flange is deeper (e46 for example is >12mm) which makes it hard to get the required room out of a 10mm spacer. When the bore isn't deep enough the spacer 'bottoms out' on the flange before it actually makes contact with the flat mating surface of the hub. When this happens, you torque the wheel down and it's snug against the spacer but the spacer is not flat against the hub. This obviously gets very bad when the car get driven as the wheel works it way loose as the spacer disintegrates.

On the attached pic imagine that the spacer is not flat against the mating surface of the hub because the flange is preventing it from seating all the way.
