Equivalent Paint Code - Alpine White?

Front bumper towing eye cover "suddenly" disappeared. I ordered pre-primed replacement part, but is not going with body shop paint job....which is $72!!!

What is a good aftermarket paint for plastic parts? Anybody have experience with compatible colors and proper prep procedures?

TIA

I went to a
Body shop that paints BMWs all the time and asked if they just add it next time they paint alpine white car. If no hurry AW is sooooo common. Other option is buy a rear one and two more front ones. They will probably charge close to same for 3 or four parts. Sell them on here. I sold my extra ones after i sold white 1M. Recover some money. In sure there are many that would love a spare and the quality will be much better than aftermarket stuff.

Maybe try ECS Tuning or IND or Getbmwparts.com I think they all sell these painted tow hook covers. Or buy a primed one and have one of those Smart paint repair guys that come to you in a van paint your cover with a small paint gun/air brush.

Actually, a good idea. I was thinking a rattle can job could do the trick?

I don't think it would look good but not horrible. You would need paint for plastic. When they paint plastic parts they add a flex agent so it doesn't crack when you bend it. Then you need an clear coat too. The color is called Alpineweiss III. It is a 3 stage paint. Primer, paint and clear coat. IND is also an option and their quality looks great but not sure on price. There is a lot of labor and waste in painting even if it's a little part so your best bet is to bundle it with another AW paint job. I would also venture to say that if they charge $90 for two or three do it. Keep a spare and sell one. I did that and have a spare VO front and back one. Good luck!

Been there with you buddy.
If you've got OCD like me, you'll cough it up. Mine was $65. I've got a license plate bracket in my toe hook but I want every part of my car to be accounted for.

Seems like there's enough demand to justify a group buy of some sort.

I think everyone should buy a spare front one at least. I have a spare painted one for front and back. Since the 1M bumper is lower production than others, they might run out one day.

A group buy would be a great idea. I would join it if I didn't already have a spare set!
