Anyone use a magnetic type mount for a radar detector?

Find those mag mounts everywhere these days where its a suction base and you put a mag plate on phone/tablet/etc, has anyone tried this for a radar detector? Seems like it would work. If you are using this please post the brand/style. Tired of the Bel/Escort fancy mounts breaking after a few years, mag option is cheaper and easier to remove the unit. Thanks

Any extra metal plates and magnets in front of you are going to be a safety issue during an accident, especially mounted at face level. Also, the detectors hang, so you'll need extra strong magnets to keep it from moving around or falling and then extra strong suction cups to hold up the magnets.

I use a suction cup mount for my V1 right up near the rearview mirror. Never had any reason to consider otherwise.

Yeah, but even with the amount of $ I spend on stuff, can't justify a $100+ mount, had a kinda knockoff one in the Z3 that was ok. But doesnt the giant bulb thingy on the bottom of our mirror make even a blendmount near impossible?

I have a blendmount on a non auto dimming mirror so the bulb is much bigger. It leaves enough room. Only complaint is it does rattle against my v1, some electrical tape fixes that.

Another vote for the Blendmount. Looks completely stock and zero noise.

I wish it was cheaper, if I order for 1 car then I should order it for all 4, especially if I like it. Then I am at $500 for radar detectors mounts, its bad enough I have $1200 in radar detectors to begin with. $500 is more than the deal on the Escort Max 2 I want.....
