Space Grey 1er Build
Finally got myself a 135i a couple weeks ago and just started making some changes and wanted to create this build log to keep track of all the progress and maybe get some input from y'all.
I purchased the car in Dallas TX for 15,500 with 88k and a extended warranty. The car was basically stock besides a few little things I plan to take the car to the track when ever I go, but since I have a dedicated track car and my local track is very bumpy this car wont be seeing too much track time. MODIFICATIONS/PARTS UPON PURCHASE - Burger Dual cone intake - VRSF chargepipe - Tial blow off SINCE PURCHASE - Rotiform RSE wheels - Hankook Ventus V12 evo 2 tires - Rolled fenders FUTURE PLANS - Coilovers (looking for something affordable and comfortable but able to handle some track duty, any sugestions?) - FMIC - VRSF down pipes - Either JB4 or COBB - Blackline LCI (any for sale?) Even though I have the warranty I ended up having to make a repair before getting the warranty transfer in the mail. My window regulator went out a few days after I bought the car and it wouldnt have been a big deal if the window was stuck closed but since it was open and the weather was getting worse I had to have emergency service done at BMW of Austin. They got my window working in a few hours and cleaned by 1er up for me.... But, this job ended up costing me $652 with the actual regulator costing around $175. I could have saved a good chunk of money by ordering the part and having it installed somewhere else or doing it myself but I just couldn't wait on the window with the weather. And Route66 was very helpful about letting me know how to make a claim once the warranty gets transfered into my name. |

UPDATE: Wheels and Fenders
I ordered my wheels from WheelLab which I was referred to by Rotiform. They also had a great black friday deal where I got one of my wheels for free with the purchase of a set. Although when I was supposed to get my wheels I only received one wheel, then the next day another wheel, then finally my last two wheels the next day. Initially I contacted Wheel Lab when this happened and they were very helpful in making sure all my wheels were on the way to my house.
Despite not having any rubber yet, I couldn't wait to get them on so I did a little test fitting. I then ordered my tires from tire rack and got them in 2 or 3 days and had them mounted the day they arrived. Currently on the squishy stock suspension I was getting a good amount of rubbing taking corners hard and when I hit bumps so I contacted my buddy with fender roller and a lot of experience rolling fenders. He rolled them as much as he said he possibly could without messing with the fender liner and now I only rub when I hit bigger bumps or have someone in the back seat. Hopefully some coilovers can fix my rubbing issue completely. PS: Also plasti-dipped the Kidney grills but don't have any pics with them |

Those wheels looks great. Very close to my Apex ARC-8s, and sounds like cheaper too!

Good to see another space gray metallic. Best color IMHO - I'm biased tho. Curious on the wheel & tire specs also.

Yep. Et35 explains why it's rubbing. Look good for sure. I was happy to see Anthracite on Space Gray. I've been thinking about something similar.

There is a thread around here on hub conversion that gets you an extra 10 mm of offset clearance on the rear. Might help.
