Leaky N55 Help!
My n55 is leaking and idk what to do, obviously im going to bring it to the dealer or my mechanic, most likely my mechanic but its leaking a few drops here and there so I wasnt too worried, but now that I brought it into the warm garage I guess it kept the car warmer or something and when i pulled it out an hour later there was a few puddles of oil on the floor. I did just go through a car wash that cleans the undercarriage of the car. Keep in mind I live in Boston so I clean the car 3x a week in the winter. I already looked at the oil filter housing gasket and It does not look like it so I am assuming it is the oil pan gasket that sounds like a lot of money. Has anyone ever been quoted on an oil pan gasket change before? Just really concerned and asking if theres anything that i can do at all to help it or to look for or make sure ts not something else, my car is also currently at 70k miles. When should the gaskets be changed? Is it time to change them? Are they overdue? Any help would be appreciated!

Did you have a look on the left side of the engine under the intake manifold and at the front of the engine?
Who changed your oil last? A loose sump plug or reused sump plug washer can leak a lot of oil too. I'd recommend a top to bottom thorough degrease and recheck in a few days or week depending how much you drive in a week. |
