Thoughts on this car?

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
USD 23,500.00

Item Interest
What do people think of this car? Price seems right. Only issue is the lemon / buy back. Dealer claims that oil light resulted in DME replacement and reprogramming.

May be fine.... if you're gonna keep it???

Seems to me would make it hard to sell... ever! Banks won't normally loan on it from what I hear?? Have read that a branded title is a branded title to insurance companies, so may not be able to insure correctly??
Good looking car though!!

Normal history in Florida.
Very strange history in CA. Oct 17 to Nov 18 show 38 miles. Nov 18 to Feb 8th show 26 miles.
Since BMW bought it back, its most likely been fixed well altho you don't know what's been done.
Too strange, too risky in my view.
I always prefer to buy privately and I know what questions to ask. I also want to see maintenance records & that's really important with used 135's.

The price is way too high even without the branded title.

A lemon buy back at 41,000? That doesn't sound correct.

I can say that VIN is #453 out of the 613 made per another member's findings.

I'd pass on this.

Thanks for the messages. As people have suggested I've decided to move on to another car. Thanks for the input!

No you did not if you got a very good car. Good paint & body, good maintenance records, minimal wear on drivers seat, high quality tires, etc.

I never believe any story a dealer tells me why its lemon or salvaged title is not as bad as it seems.

Why risking it? Just bought my second 135i going from a 2008 ( that i bought new) to 2013 limited edition, w cpo warranty still active and paid less (37k miles). My point beign keep searching!

This isn't bad of a price for the miles. sucks about the lemon issue. but the 135is has more value than a regular 135i. depending if having an "is" will benefit you is up to you. because you can easily buy a 135i for less and do the same stuff. I decided on the 135is and freaking love it and knowing I have a rare vehicle

I plan on picking up a car this Saturday which is a 2011 with just under 60K miles. Maintenance history looks good and for what I was wanting it fits. Plus is was more than $6K cheaper than this. For the add I can make this car faster than a 135is. Seems worth it to me.

It is "worth" it. Same reason i choose my 135i over a 1m. I love the 1m but cant justify the huge price difference. Those i consider more of a collector car. Even though mine is going the way of a collector car since i don't drive it much...lol
