Fuel Additives

Any recommendations for fuel additives? If the answer is yes please indicate if the additive is good for increase in hp, cleaning engine parts or maybe both. Your responses are appreciated.

Thanks for your response. I assume that all Top Tier gasoline would work. I do not know if they all contain Techron but this ingredient placed them in the Top Tier group.

I always use Top Tier gasoline.

Each top tier has their own blend. Techron is by Chevron. Brand wise I prefer Chevron > Shell > Mobile then other top tier choices and only random gas station generics if I have to.

You can add a bottle of Techron cleaner to a tank now and then. You can buy it separate at your local chevron station.

I use Gumout Regane. The Techron bottle shape makes it difficult to use without spilling.

Technron was developed with the help of BMW in the late 1990s and it is an excellent product to use for maintaining a clean engine.

I'm also a fan of Liquid Moly products. I've run their Fuel Injector Cleaner and Valve Cleaner in all of my BMWs, among various other fuel and oil additives they make.

I am pretty sure we are all talking about the Techron concentrate. I also use this and you can pick up a bottle of it at any auto parts store. I always use it on the tank before my next oil change.

I've had good results with the Nulon injector cleaner.

I've got faulty injectors on cylinders 4 and 6 that have been causing bad misfires. Usually, I would have to clear the codes every 10 minutes or so while driving. I ran a bottle of the Nulon injector cleaner through a tank of fuel and since then I have only had the misfire happen twice in 3 days. It has definitely helped in my case.

I have 6 index 12 injectors that I'll be installing this weekend though.
