red tail light tint

Thought I would share as I haven't seen any other 1ers do it yet. My powdercoating and wrap guy offered to tint my tails, I said sure and asked what he thinks would look best. He said red and showed me them on his e63 650i. Looked great, so I did it. Very satisfied, cleans up the rear and makes it look newer! Before and after:

Honestly, that looks really good. You should add a photo straight from the rear.

Thanks! I am very happy with them. I can take a step further and tint this taillight now a shade darker to match the blacklines, but I will wait on that. For $30-40 (red tint over reverse and indicator + dark tint all over), definitely cheaper than a set of those blacklines!

I think a little darker would look good. Too dark looks awful on these cars, in my opinion. I'd definitely tint the 3rd brake light to match too. highbrowed, a user on here, sells overlays for that.

LOL I'm no scammer. Something happened with the recent forum upgrade and it screwed my reputation. I messaged the mods and they told me to not worry about it and it would be fixed soon.. Dackelone

Hahah I have seen your name a lot in the threads made me wonder why such an active user would be rated negative ahhaha! I will get around to ordering the overlay when I get the tails tinted darker

As for this thread topic... why not go with BMW's LCI Blackline lights. They are only available in Europe... they run about $350 for the pair of tail lights are are totally PnP units. You can order them from Schmeidermann.de or ECS Tuning and such.

PS: The silver 135i with "BA" plates is mine.

I bought them as an upgrade. But if that wasn't the case I was going for the tint option. The red tint makes those taillights look better than stock. IMO

Those BLs look amazing and were my first choice. Maybe some time down the road? But $350 is far from cheap haha! This tint came free with my powdercoated wheels.
