Hi everyone,
As I mentioned a while back, I set up a dyno day at EAS here in So. Cal about 10 days ago. My car is FBO running MHD Stage 2+. Weather was pretty perfect the day of, I wasn't allowed into the bay when they dyno'd my car, so I wasn't able to ask any questions. The cost was 125$ for three pulls, seems like they did a test run first then the three pulls. They didn't really have any information or insight for me after the run, it pretty much felt like going to a carwash and being handed the keys after, basically you come in, give them money and keys, then when they finish they bring you into the office and have you sign your invoice and give you your keys. It was a 2.5 star experience, nothing negative, but it wasn't SPEEDLogic level service. The shops I've dyno'd other cars at in the past have always had their own logging software, but EAS did not log the run outside of torque/hp/rpm values. I realized I had forgotten my MHD logger loaded Galaxy s7 Edge (what I use for MHD) when I was 5 min from the shop, and it's about an hour drive for me, so I went in anyways realizing this data wasn't going to be very meaningful without a log. It's 100% on me, I took my 2 year old daughter with me and the S7 was the only thing I forgot out of the 200 toys, food items, extra clothes and pampers I had to pack. Oh well. I'm disappointed, to say the least, but with no log, there is really no way to tell what was going on with the car, if anything. Coils and plugs has 5k miles on them, car has 54k miles. My best run hp wise was 316 wheel. My best torque run was 391 wheel, so, as expected, these things are torque monsters. I made peak torque around 3000, it dies dramatically after 4500RPM. Peak whp was made at 4900RPM, so the usable power band on my car is pretty short. I went to SPEEDLogic after the run to get Rob's opinion, he says he'd expect I make 330-340 whp and 410 torque, so I'm not that far off. I was expecting the same he was, I'm going to log soon to see if there are any issues with the car. The hp dropoff at 5k is pretty depressing. I'd like this graph alot more if it kept pulling to 6500rpm, so upgraded turbos are likely in my future. Graph attached, I'll log soon and add it here. Sorry for the quality, I was only provided a physical copy, no digital file. I have a couple of videos I'll post later. |

He didn't, but it's a pretty small shift when viewed as a percentage. Dyno's can be finicky at times. But it does look like the 391 ft/lb run started a couple hundred rpm higher, maybe it gripped up better on that run. This car will rip the rft's when going WOT in 3rd. What I found odd was peak power at 4900 rpm, it's like a freakin diesel dyno chart. May be gas related, I have the BMS Charge Pipe with Meth Bung, if the logs are clean that's probably what I'll do to avoid having to drive an extra half hour to get e85.

I feel like TTS (Tiny Turbo Syndrome) is to blame more than anything on that dropoff. BTW, the thread title says "CAN gas" what did you mean by that? Canadian gas?

I'm probably going to go meth this summer and see what I dyno after, but the power tapper is annoying, I hate cars that don't make power up top. If I can get 350whp on the stock turbo I'd be happy for a good long time, I'm moving to suspension mods anyways. I'm keeping an eye on Matticus's PS1 turbo build, Rob said he'd expect really minimal gains for me on stage 1. But I don't care as much about the power as I do the delivery of the power, if stage 1 shifts the delivery up towards the top end, I'd be ecstatic to make 350whp at 6500ish rpm.

If you are happy with 350whp, my wife's car made 357/449 with the E30 map, catless downpipe, stock intercooler. |

Yeah I always got e85 at the conserv station in westwood off San Vicente, or there are a couple places in the Torrance/Long Beach around if I remember correctly.

Finally got a half hour to sneak away from the wife and kid to log. 4th gear feels like shit, like it's just correcting timing and not pulling. 2nd gear feels like a super car, the difference is night and day. I don't really know how to read these, but I think something odd happens in 4th gear, feels like a different car than when in 2nd.
4th gear log: https://datazap.me/u/mfindigital/sta...og=1&data=4-12 2nd gear log: https://datazap.me/u/mfindigital/sta...og=0&data=4-12

4th gear log is the one to look at. Your boost is not hitting target and its going down to 14 / 13psi above 5k rpm no wonder the hp drop. wgdc% is also going up which may suggest a vacuum leak or bad solenoid. I'd check all vacuum hose to start with.

California, Arizona, Nevada. We get the shittiest gas in the country. MHD even accounts for this in the app, it says 91 or CAN91.
