BMW X8M Model Name Trademarked Today
BMW has just filed a trademark application for the X8 M model name. This could signal that we will be seeing a new top of the line M SUV, or BMW could be filing it for name protection purposes (to reserve the right to use anytime in the future).
As for the regular G09 X8, according to our future model info thread, it's likely to start production in July 2022 with an M45e as the entry level model. Whether it will be bookended by the X8M will be interesting to see!

Well, I want it. But two massive concerns:
(1) I won't be able to afford it, based on preliminary news that the X8 (much less X8M) will be the most expensive BMW ever made (2) Entirely plausible that the current Coronavirus crisis will reshape automaker companies, and push back or eliminate the X8. I hope not. |

Why is anyone surprised?
Mercedes has the GLS 63S and Audi has the RSQ8. If anything, BMW is late to this segment. In fact, I am surprised that BMW didn't make an X7M. |

Instead of just designing grilles that's proportionally sized to the vehicle, they are now making larger vehicles, that suits their humongous grilles.. Smart..

Thank you. It's difficult to comprehend the hate towards Bmw regarding M brand diluting. It sells and that's what BMW has to do to stay in the game and not lose sales to other manufacturers. If that's what it takes to continue getting cars like the m2/m3/m4, then be my guest, make every model an M.
