about to sell my 135is - GETTING SELLER'S REMORSE

not sure what to do. I have a very low mileage 135is with only 11k miles on it. Runs and looks great. I have a buyer who's picking up the car tomorrow for $33,000.

But now I'm getting queasy.

I really don't need the money but I'm tired of moving the car in my complex.

Argghh. I love my car, - should I sell it?

LOL!!!

$33k is a nice price. Take it and buy a 2013 135 with 50k miles on it and pocket $15k

but if the car has 50K miles i=on it, imagine what I'll need to spend on brakes, tires, maintenance. etc. That's why I love low mileage cars

Keep the car if you want to keep the car...
But if you're gonna just look at the car and not drive it...sell it!

But...

Again, keep the car if you want to keep the car.

$33k? Take that. There's really nothing special about the 135is to warrant their prices other than the "limited" quantity. Compared to the 335is it's kind of a joke. Take that money and run before they change their own mind

called the buyer

he was not thrilled.

I told him I would call him before he drives from L.A. and let him know of my decision...

I checked Car Gurus and Autotrader. Looks like all 335is models for sale are high mileage and over $25k for anything decent.

I'm in the same situation. Have a tastefully modded '12 128i M-Sport 6-Spd with more miles than you (57k) and got a Tesla Model 3 Performance coming in 2-3 weeks. I have been tormenting myself if I should sell the 1 series or not over the past 3 months because I don't need the money, but don't want to manage 3 cars.

That's a lot of cars to manage!

...now I'm thinking about letting it go at the $33k price. That's better than the one sold on BAT that had more mileage.

The little voice in my head is thinking about getting a super low mileage 2013 128i Coupe in white with a beige interior down the road.. Always liked that look, lol

I'd take the money, it's a good price. And even though you could back out, it's a crappy thing to do. Sit on the $'s for a few months then decide if you want the new M2 or the current one.

I've got a 2011 w/ 30k miles, I'm in a situation as well where I don't know if I should keep it or get something new. After 10 years it's hard to not get the itch for something else.

Only proving the point. The 335is is more desirable with it's unique drivetrain combo. Take that $33k from that dumb guy and run lol

There are a few things I regret not buying, but they hardly bother me at all.

There are several things I regret selling and they still bother me to this day. If you love it, you'll be kicking yourself someday for selling.

If you don't need the money but have too many cars then just rent garage space somewhere and keep it. 1 series=they don't build them like that anymore. Wish I had followed this advice many years ago with the Porsche and the Swinger 340.

Sell it, find a low mileage 2013 135 or 128. There is nothing special about an IS except it says IS.

The 135is does have more punch than the 2013 135i that I used to own as well.
Seems to handle better - tires?

In any case, I took the $33,000 and sold my Le Mans blue 135is. I bought the car in 2019 for $26,000.

Down the road, when the time is right, I want another low-mileage 1 Series but in WHITE. The 1-Series looks so good in Alpine white.

The IS had PPK2 which is a tune and the Performance exhaust. Both of which are only a small improvement over the stock tune and exhaust.

Glad to hear you made out well on the sale though. That's a market I'll never really understand lol
