Driverside projector mount(movement)adaptive question....please help if you know

Hey everyone
I ordered new headlights and opened them in order to install different internals and noticed that my drivers side headlight projector(adaptive) doesn't move left/right like the passenger side does. Is this a software/power issue since the headlights are not connected to a power source or did I somehow manage to damage them?

Neither side should be moving manually if that's what you're indicating.
The stepper motor for aiming the light is quite strong and you'd have to physically break them or disconnect the socket on the bottom adjustment point for it to move.
