Our third brake light (TBL)
The TBL is unique to our 1 series and will likely become no longer available sooner rather than later. If you plan on keeping your 1 series for a long time I strongly suggest buying a spare. None on Amazon right now (may 26) but ECS Tuning have genuine BMW for $105.44. AND, never throw out a broken one-it may be useful long down the road if only to plug that hole in the trunk (by gluing back together with a plastic glue)

When mine went out a few years ago, I bought two, one BMW branded, and one aftermarket. Installed the aftermarket one to see the fit, wasn't perfect, but good enough, so the other one is my spare. Good reminder for folks out there though.

GOOD POINT!!! My TBL is good now, but I just grabbed a replacement from FCP Euro, so we'll see how that "forever" warranty does... ![]() Not bad for $112.49 ![]() FWIW, they can be had for ~$70 on amazon...

Glad this came up again. If you owners of early 1-series aren't comfortable hack-sawing metal off your trunk just to make the current BMW part fit, don't bother. Here's the link to the one I used on my wife's car with pictures to assure you it is indistinguishable from the OE part for about half the price and will fit all years without modification to your trunk or the lamp.
https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...0#post26128240 The price has gone up by about $19 in the past year but it's still about half the price of OE—and it fits all years. |

Currently available all over the web and Amazon. My doorman replacement is still working fine with no cracking as of yet.

Seems like there's a ton of them on Amazon. Same part#. Around $40.- $50. Don't know if there's any quality, fit issues.
