N55 block not reusable?

I got a N55 with a spun rod. Tore it down to see if I can rebuild it. I noticed that the exhaust side of the block has these marks. Almost looks like metal embedded in the block wall. Salvageable or totaled?

Yup, totally normal. It's not a spot that needs to be pretty and it's left over from the manufacturing process.
