Back on 1addicts

I just rejoined after my original " Tarpon " went inactiveseveral years ago. Sadly, I am rejoining to sell off some new never installed items as well as some good used items I have enjoyed on the car. I am currently in the process of totaling out the car due to engine flood damage. Last month we had over 20 inches or rain in 24 hours and as my car sat in the driveway, water made it thru the entire exhaust system and into the oil pan. No water ever made it into the interior and I did not drive the car in the flood waters so I thought all was good. I made the mistake of starting the car, mixing water and oil throughout the engine. Anyway... after 15 years as the only owner the motor is toast.
I was able to remove the Performance exhaust and clamp, Apex ec7 9.5 and 8.5 in silver with Firestone 500's, Apex wheel studs and lug nuts which I will be getting them cleaned up and posted for sale soon. I also have a new in box, never installed set of AA exhaust headers and a never installed by me Ebay bought disa intake manifold. I have a nose cap bra, full set of roof racks with the tool and windsurf board attachments I used for surfboards, strollers and fishing poles. Even brought home a few Xmas trees on the car with the racks. I have a few maintenance items like spark plug socket and oil filter cap tool as well. It pains me to have to move on from the car as it was truly an enjoyable classic.
I'll be getting items up for sale soon so stay posted.

What is stopping you from jumping into the cockpit of another E82?

I’d be tempted to drain, refill, and run the engine with fresh oil multiple times to try to get it cleaned out. That is unless you ran it for an extended period with the oil water mixture.

I'm still trying to figure out how all that water could make it's way into the oil pan from the exhaust; especially since the interior suffered no water damage.

I have a very similiar car, 2008

I'd like to call dibs on the performance exhaust, maybe a few other items. Delivery would be to upstate NY. Sorry for your accident. I would try getting a used engine if cars condition was good.

I’ll buy the drivers side vertical piece of black line window trim if it’s in good condition.

I did that once and it made little to no difference.

My surprise as well. My guess is an exhaust valve was open in the first cylinder which the plug came out soaked in oil. Probably damaged piston rings.

Still not understanding how this could happen. Your car would have to be parked on a steep hill with its ass end facing up in the direction of the rain and the way the rain was falling, enough of it got into your exhaust tail pipe to work it's way past the muffler, catalytic converter, to fill up the last section of exhaust pipe that would run upwards into the cylinder head. The only way I could think of this scenario happening is if you inserted a garden hose into the tailpipe and fed water in that way.

Yikes. That truly sucks.

I'm interested in the wheel studs and lug nuts if you're selling those separate from the wheels. What are the specs (I have spacers front and rear)?

I have been working on getting the items posted for sale on ebay today. Here's a Ling to the Performance Exhaust.

I get it and am surprised too. I would not have started it had I thought water was in there. When I started it, water shot out and it shuddered for a second then seemed to run fine until.it didn't. Drained oil and got an additional 1.5 quarts of liquid over the 7 quarts capacity. Sad and crazy. I can only say a valve must have been open allowing it to flow in the motor.
