Flip-out Rear Windows?
Does anyone know if the 135's rear passenger windows pivot open slightly like they do on an E46 coupe?
I’ve been studying the photos & specs can’t see any sign of them. That would be a shame, I found the ones on the E46 handy for improving flow-through ventilation. |

While I have always been a big fan of the rear pop-out windows in the 3er coupes, it does appear as though BMW has done away with them and probably to help increase structural rigidity.

That was one of the 1st ?'s I asked the dealer. Answer: The rear windows will not vent. If you check out some of the interior pics, take a look at the door, there are only controls for the driver and passenger window. A great feature has now become a dinosaur.

I actually pulled the fuses for my rear windows. I was sick of them popping open with the other windows/sunroof when using the remote open feature from my key. I can't stand having to hold those switches down and listening/looking for them to be fully closed. Plus they leak like sivs in high pressure washes, etc.
Sorry, but I say good riddance!

It would be awesome if not great if the rear windows were to roll completely down like the front windows. I don't see that happening. So YES I would love to see the side windows pivot...

I wish those rear windows pivoted out. On my 'ti it eliminates the cavitation caused by the wind buffeting across the open sunroof. With those vent windows open, there is little turbulance in the car at all, just bright skies (I have the California roof option on the 'ti, so it's one big open roof).

Yeah, I'd be in the "that sucks" camp, too. Loved that feature on my old Saab 900 - got the heat out of my car in seconds. :w00t:
Not enough to make me not want the car, but a bummer nonetheless. |
