my friends e46 m3 was bought used and its not faded but the owner was a bmw enthusiast who cared for it well (like conditioned every month!)
but it does crack in heat and in cold something you wouldnt notice as much in grey or blk

Just be careful about leaving your car in direct sunlight.
Also find a good leather cream to treat / moisturise the seats, this will also stop cracking. Do the above and it will be fine.

Any leather left in direct sunlight will fade over time. As long as the fade is even you will not notice it.
Treating leather with conditioner will reduce the cracking and wear patterns. Red is a particular color to most people and will not hurt the resale price but will limit your buyers. |

I dont think so if you take care of it properly. Ive been looking at some E46 M3's that are older and the red leather looks like new. If you thrash it and dont take car of it im sure it show the effects, just like any leather though. I wouldnt worry about it.
