You'd have to get the Dinan flash to remove the governor. Otherwise you'd never get above 150Mph. However if you did, then according to that chart, you should easily be able to get into the 200Mph club. Although that is scary fast, not sure I'd want to attempt in my $45K car.

Someone really needs to brush up on their Excel.
For starters RPM @ 60 mph (100 kph) in 6th is around 2,200, not 1,700 as the sheet says. And the 7,000 redline in 6th works out to 190 mph (=320 kph), not over 400 kph or 240 mph!!! Tom |

With the aerodynamics of the 1 series, you would probably need in excess of 600 hp to break 200 mph. This is purely conjecture as I don't feel like figuring out the math. Nate

these are purely theoretical based on the feed values of the 135i final drive and gearing ratios as well as its redline and peak torque RPM. so it is not meant to replicate real world dynamics (especially at end point speeds as you so astutely note) but works well at reasonable speeds.

The more expensive the car...the safer id feel at higher speeds. My father in law had a Bentley Continental GT. I felt very safe in that car hitting 180 mph. (Fastest I personally have ever traveled was 185 mph on my Ninja) ...new thread!!! How fast have you gone??! |

Are you guys serious?!? I just posted the conversion back at post #11. I know that even if you can't do math at all, you can find a calculator on your own. The only way to learn is to do it yourself and quit relying on others to do the work for you...

I saw your conversion, I was just offering up the Google solution as an alternative because it's just as easy as doing the math yourself with a calculator.
