Why do people blank out their number plates online?
Not really sure what the point is, especially since your number plates are on display for the public to see everytime you take to the roads.
It's not like anyone can gather information on you based on your plate... Those who do it, what's your reasoning? Afraid someone will see you and go "Hey! You're thet guy on 1Addicts!"?

Must admit I was just following convention. Didn't want to upset the status quo.
I agree. There probably is no point in Aus, but Europe and US seem to do it, so I just got on board. Should I stop doing it?

I know some people do it on track days in for insurance / warranty protection reasons but I don't think there is any need to worry about it for normal photos.

In the past, I have pre-ordered (ie. one of the first to get delivery) a lot of cars that are attractive to enthusiast such as Cooper S, TT, 911 etc, and they always get their photos taken and inevitably get posted on the internet. Like recently someone showed me an forum where a picture of my C63 was taken on Tullamarine Freeway and posted, number plates and all!

Think he might have corrected it. I was too late.
