A few mods with dynos

I thought that I would show what we have seen so far. This is a v81 car so I find these numbers very interesting.

Run 1 is stock baseline with 286tq and 266hp
Run 2 is SSTT (13psi) with 337tq and 299hp
Run 6 is SSTT (13psi) and AA intercooler with 340tq and 308hp
Run 7 is SSTT (13psi), AA intercooler and dual cone filters with 349tq and 325hp

This car now has 2200 miles and no codes. Down pipes along with everything else will be dynoed tomorrow afternoon if time permits and I'll post that up in this thread.

I was original going with Dinan Upgrade, but after all this good information coming from the SSTT guys im sold on SSTT. The cost vs risk is worth its weight.

Don't make up your mind because of what I'm showing here.... Do your research and get what works best with your plans. The SSTT works well and I like it but it is not the most powerful option out there. I'm just putting out data for everyone to consider.

We made it in the shop in about 30 minutes. I'm using 2.43" stainless steel pipe flanged to 3" with K&N X flow cones. I was most impressed with what it did.

It might not be the most powerful option available, but it still put up some cheap and easy gains.

You posted 349tq? I thought that gains in excess of 50tq were supposed to throw the code. That is interesting. Also interesting is that the v81 seems to dyno lower than the v80.

The filters are K&N part number RX-4990 The adapters we made.

Great info and impressive numbers...

May I ask Joel, is your 135i a manual or auto ??

If auto, are there any power handling/reliability issues with the auto transmission ??

Thanks for the numbers. Those gains from the air filter are pretty damn impressive. Much more than I would have expected.

SSTT, exhaust, and a set of downpipes are my next mods, so I can't wait to see what kind of gains you see with the DPs. :respekt:

So where are the guys that claim the open element filter will reduce power because of heat soak? Anyone, anyone? Didnt think so.
