Left foot braking pedal - Help required!

Hi,

So I recently installed a left foot braking pedal however the clearance to the left of the pedal is inadequate and means part of my left foot is resting on the dead pedal and I can't fully depress the brake pedal with left foot like I want.

Is it possible to adjust the position of the pedal closer to the accelerator somehow by bending the arm (probably not) or adjusting it somehow maybe? or is the best option to cut away some area of the base plate where the pedal cover attaches to in order to mount the cover itself closer to the accelerator and then redrill holes to suit? (probably need to find a friendly fabricator to do it for me)
