New e82 owner excited picked up copart Thursday 2/102k.miles no rust
Just purchased a 2011 e82 on copart. brought it back with the 2011 Nissan Titan. Almost got locked in the copart yard. I drive so much, I decided I needed a car again sooner. Plus my truck differentials are in need of maintenance. Didn't wanna wait until my e36 is done. The car ran great when I inspected it at copart 102k miles black on black sunroof low options so it's lighter. Automatic for now 😄. My e36 used to be an auto now it has a t56 and ls3 hoping to put in in next few months. used to have a 5.3 aluminum block but blew up after a season.now going wide body and Holley terminator.
When I go to load up the e82 course I couldn't jump it but as a backup plan I brought a rented trailer with a winch. Troubleshooted this weekend intermittent starting issues and hard to start. Pretty new bouncy idle that didn't exist before. Lots of misfire codes (every cylinder) and p1050 p1056. Realized I could only get it to start very intermittent with my truck battery piggy backed on the battery. Measured jump + point and it didn't see any voltage. Ran a welding cable from back positive to the jump point area below the one reading open circuit. Then ran my jumper cables |

Still wouldn't start with new temporary positive cable and grounds ran from battery and to engine block. Made a thick gauge wire from one terminal on jumper block to the other terminal now it starts and purrs great. I'm gonna check the bottom ground cable. And make a new thicker gauge cable as a jumper. Eventually buy a new positive distributor connector point. Mayne after I inspected it someone else inspected it and shorted something out.
