E82 125i (my first bmw)

Hi everyone,

I’m wanting to get into the bmw ownership, I have a friend who’s very knowledgable of BMWs of this era and has advised me on what to look at and what to look out for. I love the 1 series coupe, and I wanted a more reliable, yet fun configuration so I thought I’d go for the N52.

I’m potentially viewing a car this weekend and would like some advice on what to look out for, all advice is welcomed I’m trying my best to learn! I’ve been doing tons of research on here the past few weeks.

Titanium silver E82 125i m sport , 103k FSH Main Dealer BMW, current owner 6 years of ownership maintained thoroughly. Stacks of bills and invoices. £5995

Looks like he already swapped out the stock shift knob with a ZHP knob…nice.
The stacks of repair bills sounds like the common issues may have been addressed already.
Sounds good so far. Hopefully a deal is reached!

I noticed the gearstick knob, looks tidy. Thanks for your input! Do you know how the titanium silver look in person?

Yes, and it will look best at dawn and dusk.
On a cloudy day it will be a light grey and on a sunny day it will be bright silver.

Research the common issues and compare against the stack of repairs. Let us know how this concludes!

+1 on the ZHP knob. Also Titanium Silver a great color for ‘staying clean’ longer.

The car sold and they didn’t notify me although I was meant to be travelling across the country to see it. Shame but hopefully a better one will pop up !
