I'm sure it has been covered quite a bit
however, my car just hit the VPC and I should have it in 7 days. ordered October 1st. That would make about 8 weeks....60 days...and I imagine that's pretty quick. on a side note....3000$ deposit to order the car? I only had to put down $1000, and I remember reading the same for other buyers. 3000 seems high. |

I put in a $2k deposit and that didn't bother me. I think you have the power to choose your deposit and/or your down payment these days. Tell em you want to do a $1k deposit if you want. With car sales the way they are, I doubt it would be a big issue.
I'd say the average wait would be 6-8 weeks depending on the production cycles in the factory and where you are. The East Coast is, after all, closer to Germany. It only takes a week to build the car, but it just depends how soon they can get a production slot. Though that might be a bit harder too. Two weeks ago they had forced vacation and shutdown the factory according to some reports... :iono: |

im hoping the dealer will take my price of 42500 this is my first time buying a car on my own. So do you negotiate the final price after the car has arrived or before you order it? They said i can put down anywhere between 1-3k.

You want to have the price nailed down before you order, or put down ANY money at all. You should have a signed sales contract before you give them a dime. My car took exactly two months from order to delivery. |

It seems to me that your car is one of the less expensive 135s I've run into. At least it looks that way after I "built" it on the BMW website configurator. Unless there are other options you're getting that weren't mentioned, the car looks like $40K on the sticker. I'm not a pushy person, but I wouldn't pay 42.5 for the car you mentioned.
And, everything Jeremy said above is true. Make sure about your deal. |

I ordered mine on Oct. 25, and it was released to AG for transportation to the port on Nov. 17. 11 days on the boat, so they say, to the East Coast (USA). So it depends how long it has to wait for a boat and how long between the US port and the dealer. I'm hoping I see it in 3 weeks, but it definitely should be before Christmas - so that would be less than 2 months.
Mine was ordered Priority 1 - Customer sold. It was originally a stock car, but when it switched to Priority 1 it got pushed up in line, so see if you can get yours ordered as a Priority 1. Have Fun, Rick |

For me it took 2.5 months from the day I placed an order to the day it arrived at the dealership. Placed an order on August 30th and it arrived at the dealership November 12th. It took a little over a week from date of my order to the day it went into production. By mid-September my car's production was complete and it spent almost until the end of the September waiting for a ship to haul it across the Atlantic through the Panama Canal and all the way up the California. It took about a month on the seas and arrived in California a little before the end of August. It spent maybe a little over a week at the VPC in Oxnard before making the 4 day cruise down to Hawaii. From there it took a week for a dealer to unload all the cars that were inbound and bring it to the dealer. Not bad, but this was all before "OMG the stock market is crashing!" As for my down payment, I put 10% down, so $4k.

its equiped well enough for me. I dont need leather, i hardly ever use gps. It has all the essential three predals, premium sound, sports seats, bmw assist and bluetooth plus ipod usb cable. With the dealers pricing it is 39500 msrp. So im going ot put in 42.5 with tax and licensing. Its about 1.5-2k cheaper than what it should be accorfing to the 10% rule.(10% of total msrp= tax+licenesing.)

We're talking about two different things here.....money put down on the loan/lease and money put down on deposit. I wouldn't put a dime over $1K down on an order. Even though they say it's refundable, you never know what they have up their sleeve if you don't want the car. I'd rather worry about $1K than $3K. Then, once the car arrives and you know you want it, then you can put down additional funds toward your loan.

Chewy, please PLEASE do some research before proceeding any further. I've seen your posts over the last few days, and it seems you're kind of "making it up as you go." You will save money and be happier with your decision if you do more research before pulling the trigger.
