I am looking for the best budget track tires. I am curious what other people are running.

Are you looking for a streetable tire? Or are you changing tires when you get to the track? Time trials, hot lapping, autocross, endurance racing? Some of the track tires get to be downright dangerous if you're trying to run them on the street during a weather event, so recommendations will change greatly depending on what your actual use case is.

Endurance 200TW category is great for track use. Continental ExtremeContact Force or Hankook RS4.

Kumho V730 is another good option, not quite as good wear characteristics as the previously mentioned but gives you a bit more pace.

As far as what im doing goes, i am just building it to be as fun and fast as possible open track. I an building it just for myself without any limmitations(aside from funds&#128557, as I already have a speced race car. I do want it to be able to drive on the road from time to time, BUT i have 2 sets of apex ec7 both same spec, 18, 8.5, et45. So I can just switch to the other tires for track days. For road courses btw idk if I stated that or not.

- So I actually would be interested in what the best tire would be for track driving that still sees the street.
-A tire thats good on the street that can occasionally do track days.
-And a tire that will only ever see track sessions.

Tires are tough to sort out. It's a game of balancing trade offs as well as personal preferences. Some tires will last forever but not be too fast. Some tires will give you an immediate, single, hero lap and then need a cool down. Some tires will hydroplane you into a barrier at the first sign of rain.

Will you be driving through a lot of rain?

For budget, are you thinking cheap at first or cheap over the lifetime of the tire?

I'd avoid the Kumhos if you are going to see rain. They are awesome, until it is wet.

The Vitour P1 will cost you a little more upfront, but they seem to just go and take heat well. That will probably be your best bet for dollar per lap.

The RS4 is a tank and will put up with a lot of abuse. Slower than the P1, but also cheaper.

They will see absolutely no rain as i will switch to my other wheels if it is going to rain.
